Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas presents this beautiful 1955 Chevrolet 3100 "Big Window" pickup for your viewing pleasure. The Chevrolet 3100 is a creation of the Chevrolet Task Force which was Chevrolet's successor to the Advance Design truck series. The Task Force Series ran from late in 1955 through 1959. This was also known as the second series. The 1955 second series offered standard options and add-ons such as 12-v electrical, the firs V8 and fleet-side 6, 7 and 8 foot beds. First year for new body style. New "wrap-around" windshield a truck industry first and optional wrap-around rear window on Deluxe cabs. Power steering and power brakes became available for the first time on GM trucks. Electrical system upgraded to 12 volts. Only year for seven-foot bed length. Fenders have single headlights and one-piece emblem is mounted below horizontal line on fender. Okay enough of the history lesson, let's get back to this high-end build! Powered by a stout LT1 350 CID V8 engine, backed to a 4L60E automatic transmission showing only 183 miles on the odometer for the refresh, this pickup has no shortage of power to get you around town in style. The front clip and rear 4 link suspension is off of a 90's Camaro to complement the drivetrain and add to the fun of how this truck handles the road. One look around this beauty you'll see how well built and nicely optioned it is. It features a Vintage Air A/C system, power steering, power brakes and aftermarket beautiful reupholstered PT Cruiser seats with black/red vinyl. Other add-ons include a custom console, tilt wheel column and a Retrosound radio! You will also find an aluminum radiator and electric fans under the hood, helping keep this classic truck cool in those hot summer months. All in all, if you are looking for a well rounded truck that you can drive comfortably on the highway and still make smoke clouds when you want, this is the truck for you!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
