General description : 2003 Chevrolet Corvette The 50th anniversary Edition is a tribute to a half-century of automotive leadership. The Corvette is positively magnetic with the One-Year-Only Anniversary Red is a lustrous burgundy with Xirallic aluminum-oxide flakes floating under a special tinted clear-coat and complemented by special Shale interior trim with anniversary badges and cockpit embroidery. Body side moldings have two pieces per side (one mounted ahead of the door to the front fender, the other mounting directly to the driver and passenger doors respectively tapered from the front to rear. When 50th -Anniversary models arrived at dealerships in 2003 prices started at about $50,000.00. All 50th-Anniversary models have the F55 Magnetic Selective Ride Control suspension. A dual-processor computer adjusts the current about 1000 times per second based on wheel travel and speed, vehicle speed, steering-wheel angle, lateral acceleration, brake application, and also temperature. Removable roof panel, Blue Tint is a single piece, transparent, removable glass roof top with blue tint. Performance comes from a LS1 350HP and 360lbs-ft, 4-speed automatic w/overdrive, and a performance axle 3.15 ratio automatic. Upgraded K&N filter system. The original filter intake comes with car. Also has a Borla performance exhaust system. Gives a deep throaty rumble from a 2.5-inch stainless tubing and mufflers. GTE Stage 1 performance chip. Better gas mileage,enhanced pickup, power, and engine performance enhancements get up to 26-28 HWY. It just doesn't get any nicer! The 50th Anniversary Special Edition is distinguished with a Shale interior, Chrome wheels, generous application of commemorative badges and embroidery. The increased roster of equipment includes fog lamps, sport seats, power passenger seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, child seat hooks for passenger bucket, remote 12-disc CD player/disc changer (installed in rear storage compartment).
