Chevrolet Custom 350 V8 with B&M Blower 1955

General description : 1955 Chevrolet Custom This 1955 Chevrolet is one cool custom that was just completed.  The original builder put the car together and drove it around 600-700 miles before he was no longer able to show it.  He then parked it indoors where it remained for 6 years except for occasionally being started/ran to make sure it continued to run smoothly.  Due to its limited use the car is still just as fresh looking as the day it was finished.  It may be missing the hood scoop but that sleek Black paint and fat rear tires instantly makes you think of the Chevy Harrison Ford was cruising down the road in American Graffiti.  The paint has a beautiful shine and the hood and deck lid are free from any trim.  The Bel Air side trim is in place as well as the front/rear bumpers and window trim all of which has a clean shiny finish.  The 2 door body is entirely rust free and very straight.  All of the glass is in good condition with the top tinted windshield up front.  The car has a really tough looking exterior and the Weld Racing wheels just add to that appearance.  It isn't just looks with no guts though because the car runs great.  It is powered by a 350 V8 motor with a B&M blower topped with a Edelbrock carb.  The engine compartment is all show ready with lots of chrome and custom built stainless panel to cover the firewall, inner fenders, radiator support and the underside of the hood.  The motor is backed by a Turbo 350 3 speed automatic transmission that moves through the gears with ease.  In back is a Competition Engineering rear end with 35 spline axles.  The dual exhaust is routed out of the rear and it sounds just as tough as it looks.  It does not have AC but power steering and power brakes are in place.  It has a nice ride with Koni coil over shocks in back.  The interior is done in a Grey tweed with a split bench seat up front that utilizes racing style lap belts.  On the floor is a Hurst shifter that is all chromed out.  In front of the driver is a tilt steering column that is topped with a Billet style steering wheel.  The dash has a mostly stock appearance with the stock knobs, radio and bowtie trim pieces.  Custom gauges were added that include all of your standard gauges into where the speedometer would have originally been. This is one cool classic that with these low miles is practically like new.  Skip the hassle of getting a car restored and get this fresh car at a fraction of that price.

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
