The name “Traction Avant" is actually French for front wheel drive. While this may have not been the first front wheel drive vehicle, its efforts to perfect the front wheel drive platform are what we hold in such high regard. It paired its front wheel drive platform with a unibody chassis and four wheel independent suspension. The combination of these three main ingredients produced a strong yet lightweight car that was low to the ground and handled exceptionally well for its time. While there are many fine details underneath the hood, the main reason you will fall in love with this car is purely because of the way it looks. About Citroen
French industrialist André Citroën had been building arms for the French army during WWI by the end of the war he was left with great industrial facilities but no product for the post war market. In 1919 he founded Citroen that became the first mass-production car company outside the USA[3] and a pioneer of the modern marketing as well as factory backed services network. Mind you, even Eiffel Tower served as a billboard for Citroën from 1925 to 1934 -Mon Dieu, monsier!
