Corvette Other Spider 1984

General description : McBurnie Coachcraft was a US bodywork company which became well-known through the popular TV series ‘Miami Vice’. The car that Sonny Crockett and Rico Tubbs tore through the streets of Miami was a replica built by McBurnie and based on the Corvette. Yet the cars by McBurnie are very popular, which is partly due to their excellent quality. Remarkably, McBurnie’s creations were copied as well, and some of those pass for a ‘real McBurnie’. The car we have on sale is based on the Corvette C4. It was converted at McBurnie immediately after it had left the factory. A statement signed by McBurnie is part of the records supplied together with the car. The milometer reads 17,000 miles, and, given the state and overall feel of the car, this seems very plausible. Driving in this car is a true sensation. The horsepower, the engine’s toxic reaction to the gas pedal and the great V8 roar (the exhausts are slightly less muted than those of the Corvette) make this car a true thrill to drive.

De auto waarmee Sonny Crockett en Rico Tubbs door de straten van Miami scheurden was een replica gebouwd door McBurnie op basis van de Corvette. De auto's van McBurnie zijn erg populair mede door de goede kwaliteit en opmerkelijk genoeg werden ook de creaties van McBurnie gekopieerd die al dan niet als een "echte McBurnie" door het leven gaan. De auto die wij aanbieden is gebasseerd op de Corvette C4 en werd direct toen de auto de fabriek uitrolde omgebouwd bij McBurnie. Een verklaring ondertekend door McBurnie maakt deel uit van het dossier dat bij de auto geleverd wordt. De mijlenteller geeft 17000 mls aan en gezien de staat van de auto en hoe de techniek aanvoelt lijkt dit zeer aannemelijk. Het rijden in deze auto is een ware sensatie, het vermogen, het giftig reageren van de motor op het gaspedaal en de enorme V8 brul (de uitlaten zijn iets minder gedempt dan bij de Corvette) maken deze auto een waar spektakel om mee te rijden.
