Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1950 Dodge Pickup! 2 years after WWII ended Dodge decided it was time to overhaul their trucks. The B-Series debuted in 1948 and would offer several variants such as ½ ton, ¾ ton, van, suburban, and more. The wheelbase may have been shortened but the engine was pushed forward, and front axle moved back for better weight distribution. The B-Series would see production until 1953. Here we have a '50 model, and she is far from original! As you approach this truck you can help but smile, it is striking! A cab was sourced as well as a chassis and the fab work would begin. The fab work was easier than thought with the cab and bed practically mounting right up. The body was in good shape, so the custom orange paint was laid down and gives this truck a very unique look. The light ash wood bed was next to go in and looks great against the orange paint. The black steps make for a nice tone breakup in color. Inside the cab is a nice mixture of old and new. The cloth power seats are out of the S10 and look good. The door panels have been accented with a splash of dress up items in brushed aluminum and the window switches for the power windows. The upper section of the metal dash remains with the S10 dash being worked over to fit nicely in the space below it. Under the hood you will find a fuel injected 4.3L Inline 6-cylinder engine (from the S10) is mated to a 4-speed Automatic Transmission. The truck was built with the intent to drive it and if you ever drove a '50 dodge truck comfort is not one of their strong points. With that being said, the decision was made to sit the Dodge body on top of a 98 S10 chassis. It would then have all the comforts you want in daily life with the look to compete in a car show on the weekend. Current owner has had her for over 6 years, acquired from our showroom at that time. If you are after the old school look with modern touches, this truck commands your attention! Options on this Dodge are: A/C, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows/Locks, Cloth Interior, Tilt Wheel, Cruise Control, AM/FM/CD Radio, Seat Belts, Aluminum Wheels, and Radial Tires. About Dodge
Dodge Brothers Company, founded by Horace and John Dodge in 1900, initially produced components for car manufacturers. In 1914 they stepped into car manufacturing when introducing four-cylinder Dodge Model 30 with all-steel body and 12v electric system.

By 1920 Dodge had become the second biggest car manufacturer in the USA, unfortunately the same year both of the brothers died, the company in turn to was sold to Chrysler Corporation in 1928. Dodge found a niche Chrysler Corporation lineup above low-priced Plymouth and medium-priced DeSoto, but somewhat below the top-of-the-line Chrysler
