Fiat Dino Coupé 2000 Coupe sold new to Björn Borg's trainer 1969
General description :
The Fiat Dino 2000 Coupe and 2400 was a design by Bertone. There was also a Fiat Dino 2400 by Pininfarina (some people would like to refer to it as a Ferrari) since they both share the same V6 engine developed by Dino Ferrari. To make it even more confusing, there were a Fiat Dino Convertible in 2000 and 2400 built by Pininfarina that did not look anything like the other two.
Exterior: This blue Fiat Dino Coupe 2000 has just come out of a full restoration. It was completely disassembled and painted in early 2019. After this, it has been put back together with either new parts or reconditioned to look like new. Personally, I love the original blue colour on this Fiat Dino and still with the original Italian license plate holder in the back. The underneath of the car looks as pretty as the top.
Interior: The nice thing with classic cars is that many times you can see what they look like on the inside from the outside. And the seats on a Fiat 2000 Dino Coupe have a special pattern on their seats that looks very cool from the front. On the inside, the Bertone Dino has wood panels, vinyl seats and many wonderful flip switches on the centre dashboard. The Veglia Borletti instruments are in wonderful condition. The Dino Coupe has many little details such as ventilation, courtesy lights and ash tray for the passengers in the back. Carpets and headliner are new, just like seat covers. The trunk area has also been fitted with new carpet.
Engine: The 2l V6 Dino engine has a different character to 2.4l. Not as much torque but much happier on the higher rpm. This Dino 2000 V6 engine has just been rebuilt and works perfectly. Also, all details around the engine have been refurbished — such as carburettors, starter, and cooling system which has also been rebuilt. Hence, there should be many years of trouble-free driving ahead for this Fiat Dino 2000.
History: The cool thing with this car is that it was owned by Björn Borg’s manager for some time. Here is a photo with this Fiat 2000 Dino, Lennart Bergelin and Björn Borg after a tennis practise. The Dino was built in 1969 and was imported to Sweden in February 1973. It has changed hands a couple of times over the years and was taken out of traffic in 2010. The present owner bought the car in 2016 and started the restoration that is now completed. The restoration is documented with photos and invoices. Original tools and Swedish documents.

Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino (FIAT to you and I) was founded by Giovanni Agnelli in 1899. Their first car 3 ½ CV had a strong resembledence to contemporary Benz, only 25 examples were built. By 1910 Fiat had established itself as Italia's biggest car manufacturer and expanded to the US, where a new plant was built in Poughkeepsie, NY.
At that time Fiat cars were big and luxurious barges for the wealthy or barking mad racing cars like S76 , The beast of Turin, with its 290HP 28.5-liter, four-cylinder engine.
However, today Fiat is better reknown for its small symphatic peoples carriers, Topolino, 500 "Cinquecento" and 600.
