Ford F-150 300 cubic inch inline-6 1993

General description : 41,082 original miles. Super clean 4x4 5-speed with the indestructible 300 cubic inch inline-6. Lifetime western truck. New tonneau cover and bed mat. Good tires, dual gas tanks, sliding rear window. A sturdy, clean truck ready to work or have fun.

This 1993 Ford F150 XL is like millions of others—rugged, reliable, and equipped to do the tough jobs. Remarkably, however, it doesn’t look like it ever really had to do any heavy lifting, because it’s extremely clean throughout. That’s original factory paint that’s still in fantastic shape, suggesting that someone took really good care of this truck, and even the condition of the bed suggests that nobody ever used it for anything particularly challenging. Panel fit is quite good and since it spent its entire life in the Pacific northwest, rust is a non-issue. It has had just three owners, and apparently each of them decided that this truck was worth protecting, including most recently, the installation of a heavy-duty bed mat and full tonneau cover that makes the bed a secure place to stash your gear. A few bright red ‘4x4’ graphics remind onlookers that this truck has go-anywhere capabilities, and the chrome front bumper and newer rear step bumper are in very good condition with no signs of accident damage. For a base model truck with few frills, this truck was certainly loved.

The interior is just as nice, including the gray cloth upholstery that shows virtually zero wear and a seat that still feels firm and comfortable. Vinyl floors are low maintenance and the dash should be familiar to anyone who drove an F150 in the ‘90s (isn’t that almost everyone?). There’s a full array of gauges to monitor the burly six-cylinder engine up front, and we believe that the 41,082 miles showing is an accurate reading. the 5-speed manual transmission makes it feel energetic and it’s actually a lot of fun to drive. The lever for the transfer case is tucked in underneath and with manual locking hubs, this truck is equipped for some pretty heavy-duty off-roading. You’ll also note that this truck has dual gas tanks, which are accessed by a switch just to the left of the instrument panel and which give this truck incredible highway range. The only notable demerit inside is that the headlight knob is missing, although we’re searching for a correct replacement. Otherwise, it’s not a bad place for being part of a workhorse like this.

The engine is Ford’s legendary 300 cubic inch inlin-6. Torquey and virtually indestructible, it was the powerplant of choice for decades. With modern fuel injection, it’s easy to live with, offering quick starts, an easy idle, and plenty of low-end torque to get the job done. With proper maintenance, this one works like it should and fires up easily and really drives well. It doesn’t much like to rev, so don’t expect a sporting experience, but with the 5-speed manual it’s quite a bit of fun and for off-roading nothing works better than this engine and low range in the transfer case. You’ll note the engine bay is super clean and nicely maintained and all the factory hardware is intact with zero modifications. Recent service includes all new fluids so it’s ready to drive. The undercarriage is original and obviously not restored, but it’s also quite clean and solid with no rust issues—just check out the floors and cab corners! There’s the usual surface scale on the hard metal parts, but to give you an idea of how clean this truck really is, we believe that’s the factory exhaust system. Nice! The 4-wheel-drive hardware works correctly and there’s a receiver hitch out back so it can do some work when needed. Factory chrome wheels look great with no issues and carry 235/75/15 blackwall radials with lots of life left in them.

Documentation includes a Deluxe Marti Report.

Just a clean, solid Ford with a legendary powerplant, ready to go. If you need a work truck, this one is very functional and costs a fraction of a new one without the wait. And if you’re sentimental about these trucks, this is a good one to enjoy on weekends. In fact, we’re shocked by how well it works, both as a truck and as a hobby vehicle. Everyone has a good memory about these handsome trucks, so it’s going to make friends everywhere it goes. If that sounds like fun, give us a call today!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
