Need a way to haul one of your classics or race car to a show or to a mechanic or body shop? Consider this 1988 Ford F-350 Custom Ramp Truck as your beast of burden.
Made at Ford’s factory in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, in November 1987, this example is finished in red over white, the truck’s paint and trim are in overall very good order. The bodywork is straight and solid, including the ramp module behind the cab.
The engine bay is very tidy and the flatbed with dual ramps remains solid and ready to haul another load. The chrome front bumper shines well for being more than 30 years old.
This truck wears Hercules LT235/85R16 tires, front and rear. Each tire is mounted on Alcoa, eight-lug aluminum wheels (dual wheels on rear axle). The wheels and tires are all in very good order. There are stowed, matching ramps side-loaded behind the rear axle with 58 inches between the ramps. It has a 133-inch wheelbase and a 10,000 GVWR.
Under the hood is a highly desirable and capable 7.3L Navistar International diesel engine with indirect fuel injection. The motor is mated to a C6 three-speed automatic transmission (VIN code K) with Gear Vendors overdrive. Driver convenience features include air-conditioning (does not engage), power steering and power brakes. Other extras include a winch, race radio, cargo lights and dual fuel tanks.
Inside is a Chestnut cloth bench seat that’s in overall great shape, matching carpet that’s in satisfactory order (this is a work truck, after all) and a white, metallic headliner provides contrast. A black, two-spoke steering wheel faces the driver, the instrument panel looks great while the inner door liners are in decent condition, reflecting the vehicle’s previous use. An aftermarket trio of gauges - coolant, battery and oil pressure – are mounted beneath the dash. The AMP/Volt meter is inop. A column-mounted shift lever and a Pioneer AM/FM stereo with CD player and remote control rounds out the interior.
By 1988, the exterior was facelifted with new composite headlamps, a more aerodynamic front end, and circular fenders. Inside, the interior was given a complete redesign. Rear antilock brakes were now standard, the first pickup truck to boast this. Custom trim included vinyl upholstery, black steering wheel, chrome front bumper, black grille, hubcaps, foldaway mirrors, and an electronic AM radio with digital clock and two speakers.
Documentation includes original owner’s manual, original operations guide, winch operation booklet and assorted repair documents.
Competition to this Ford in 1988 included 1-ton trucks from Chevrolet, Dodge, GMC, and any leftover Jeep full-sizers leftover after Chrysler’s buyout of AMC in 1987.
If you need another truck for your fleet or to replace one, this F-350 should fill the bill. Stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars today to check this one out.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
