LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1967 Ford Mustang GT

The 1967 model year Mustang was the first redesign of the original model. Ford's designers began drawing up a larger version even as the original was achieving sales success. The major mechanical feature was to allow the installation of a big-block V8 engine. The overall size, interior and cargo space were increased. Exterior trim changes included concave tail lights, side scoop (1967 model) and chrome (1968 model) side ornamentation, square rear-view mirrors, and usual yearly wheel and gas cap changes. The high-performance 289 option was placed behind the newer 390 cu in making 320 hp, which was equipped with a four-barrel carburetor. A 390 GT engine, a 4-speed top loader transmission recorded quarter mile times of approximately 13 seconds and trap speeds of over 105 mph (169 km/h).

This is a very rare chance to purchase a stunning factory “Y” Code Dark Moss Green, 1967 Mustang GT factory 390 4 speed. This rare beast is equipped, from the factory, with the GT options including power steering, disc brakes, and a tough as nails top loader 4 speed transmission. Equipped with a bullet proof 9”, 3:25 Traction-Loc rear end. The interior is all tan (2F Saddle) vinyl, with fold down rear seats, all in beautiful condition. Equipped with deluxe steering wheel, AM radio, and a passenger under dash tissue dispenser. The car was also equipped with the optional aluminum rear tail light trim panel. All exterior parts have been re-chromed and the stainless trim and parts have been polished. The engine bay, trunk and undercarriage have been correctly detailed to factory original, including all the factory stickers, paint and chalk markings. The optional steeled style wheels have been wrapped in Redline Radial tires. This ground up restoration shows extremely well with a fit and finish that is as good, or better than factory. The body is straight and the paint has been wet sanded and polished to a brilliant shine.

The 1967 Ford Mustang GT Fastback is an icon of pony car design and it has truly stood the test of time, as it is considered by many to be one of the most important Mustang models ever produced. This car comes fully documented with the comprehensive Marti report. It also includes pictures of the rotisserie restoration, the owner’s manual and service manuals. With this combination of classic colors, factory “S” Code 390, and 4 Speed manual Transmission, this is undoubtedly one of the most desirable fastback mustangs ever built.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
