Ford Mustang Fastback 289 V8 1967

General description : Description
This is an amazing Mustang. One look at the photos will wet your appetite, but when you see the level of detail that went into the restoration of this modern metallic blue 1967 Ford Mustang fastback, you'll have no choice but to agree.
There's nothing wrong with this car's original burnt amber color, but there is just something special about the new Dark Metallic Blue that grabs you attention and doesn't let go. Maybe it's the way the modern clearcoat paint makes every one of the fastback's distinctive body curves flow like they liquefy the moment sunlight hits them. But the paint was far from the only major investment in this classic. Just look at all the chrome – the bumpers, rocker panels, and delicate trim – all that is clean and in great shape. Plus, that cool deluxe hood with integrated turn signals is a piece everyone loves to see at the car shows. While the restoration gives this a fantastic presence to an iconic car, there are some nice custom touches. You see it in places like the blacked-out grille (Steve McQueen would approve!) and the bright Cragar SS wheels.
This is a code-63B car, which means it's a luxury fastback, and one of the rarest of the '67 Mustang offerings. With this kind of pedigree, it's great to see an interior as nicely restored as this one. The comfort-weave black bucket seats feel great thanks to fresh and correct covers. They anchor a very original-looking interior with just a few important upgrades. The door panels, dash, and center console are a great combination of deep black and bright trim, and this makes for arguably the best looking interior of the original Mustangs. You slip behind the correct factory three-spoke steering wheel and gaze at the original gauge package. From here you can really tell that there has been some nice work in restoring and maintaining this fastback along factory specs. Still, there are some nice subtle upgrades like provisions for air conditioning and an AM/FM/cassette stereo that hides its more modern operations and aux/iPod input behind a classic knob-style appearance.
Under the hood, the trusty Ford 289 cubic-inch V8 has been dressed for show with tidy wires as well as the bright valve covers and air cleaner. But more than just look good, it inhales deeply from the four-barrel carburetor and exhales with authority through a performance X-pipe dual exhaust for added power and street presence. The motor fires up easily, and on the road, this restored Mustang feels fantastic with an upgraded independent front suspension and new leaf springs in the rear (it also has lowed this coupe and inch for an extra aggressive stance!) Add in power steering, C4 three-speed automatic transmission, front disc brakes, and the grip of BF Goodrich T/A tires, and this is one easy to cruise cool blue fastback.
Face it... you fell in love with this classic and rare Mustang the moment you laid eyes on it. But we bet you were not the only one who saw the cool blue coupe and felt this way, so hurry up and call today!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
