Ford Mustang 1968

General description : One of the coolest things about the classic car hobby is the amount of passion and creativity enthusiasts put into builds that can sometimes span decades. And since pretty much everyone here at RK Motors is a gearhead, we know the kind of dedication a high dollar project takes. That said, it seems every time we think we've seen it all, another completely amazing car comes through the doors and just knocks our socks off! This fantastic Mustang is a head-turning resto-mod that mixes 347 cubic inches of stroked Ford power with proven Tremec cogs, a trick chassis and one-of-a-kind aesthetics. And if you're ready to feel the breeze behind the wheel of a storied Detroit legend, it's a chance to turn your lust worthy dreams into fantastic reality!
IT'S ALL BLACK AND WHITE
More timeless and striking than ever, this sweet Mustang drop-top is the beneficiary of a professional, ground-up restoration that was completed by the pros at Hephzibah, Georgia's Muscles, Rods and Motors. That thorough reboot, which took the car to bare metal, reflects glowing PPG two-stage that was sprayed by Millen, Georgia's Collision Center. And that two-stage looks especially fetching under a roster of tailored details and traditional Shelby Side Stripes. At the front of the car, a traditional chrome bumper guards traditional, Shelby-branded grilles, which join traditional, Shelby-style fender extensions to hang trick Octane lighting above clean, color-keyed parking lamps. Behind that bumper, a polished driver's mirror reflects stylish cove scoops and polished door handles. A Shelby-style hood floats requisite Autofab pins opposite stainless-trimmed glass, polished wipers and tight black canvas that's stitched around a glass backlite. And at the back of the car, a second chrome bumper guards a billet fuel cap and LED taillights beneath familiar Shelby quarter extensions and a tight, Shelby-style decklid.
PERFECTING THE 302
Angle the hood and you'll find 347 cubic inches of rowdy Ford stroker motor that was purchased directly from a professional engine builder. A polished air cleaner drops wind through a big Holley carburetor. Both air and fuel make their way from an Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake to lightweight Dart aluminum heads. Those heads float stylish Ford Racing valve covers between a stainless breather and loomed Megafire plug wires. Those wires cap a quality billet distributor, which is fired by a hot MSD Blaster 2 coil. Billet March serpentine components spin an aluminum water pump between a billet alternator and modern power steering. That pump fills a 26-inch aluminum radiator that's backed by two electric puller fans. Spent gases are jettisoned through coated Hedman Hedders. And, according to the car's owner, it all adds up to 430 horsepower and 444 lb./ft. of tire-turning torque!
BUILT RESTORATION BETTER
The bottom of this awesome Mustang is just as impressive as its slick exterior and tidy engine bay. A fresh Tremec 5-speed twists torque to a 9-inch Currie axle that's built with 3.50 gears, 31-spline shafts and a Detroit Locker differential. That proven drivetrain pushes a Heidts 4-link rear-clip that's garnished with a big sway bar and modern coil-over-shocks. Opposite that clip, power rack-and-pinion steering leads a Heidts Superide front-half that's finished with tubular control arms and a second hearty sway bar. At the corners, hydroboosted Wilwood calipers squeeze a quartet of vented rotors. Aluminized pipes funnel spent gases through rowdy Flowmaster mufflers and polished stainless tips. Power rolls through murdered Foose Nitrous wheels, which spin 245/40ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force Sports in front of 255/40ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force Sports. And every one of this Ford's details, from its deep Canton oil pan to its boxed subframe connectors, has been well planned and well executed.
IT'S ALL BLACK AND WHITE TOO
Pop the doors and you'll find a lovingly customized interior that's both attractive and well-rounded. Front and center, tall SCAT Procar buckets complement a stylish SCAT Procar bench. A factory dash hangs a full suite of Classic Instruments telemetry above cool Vintage Air conditioning. Fade-free carpet floats a tidy console between a long Hurst shifter and factory side panels. The driver spins a wood-rim steering wheel around a convenient tilting column. And Bluetooth Kenwood audio bumps beats through big Kicker speakers and 12-inch Kicker subs that occupy a custom enclosure within the car's fully upholstered trunk.
This striking 'stang is one of the coolest cruisers on the planet! As it sits, the car offers the best of both worlds: a timeless, fully restored classic, and a sweet resto-mod that's virtually guaranteed to hold its own anywhere you care to wheel. About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
