It has been assigned a Shelby CSC VIN number and listed in the Shelby Registry. This car is powered by a 408ci V8 engine producing an estimated 450+hp with fuel injection mated to a TKO 5-speed transmission. Features air conditioning, independent front suspension, and disc brakes.

40 GT350SRs were slated to be built to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the Shelby GT350. Un-officially, only 11 were produced and issued Shelby VINs (source: e-mail from Jeremy Kenner, Licensing & Legal Manager, Carroll Shelby Licensing Inc.)
In 2003 Carroll Shelby unveiled a new GT350SR limited run, continuation series at SEMA. The SR stood for Shelby Racer or also Street Racer. Unique Performance of Farmers Branch, TX, was chosen to build the cars and was also building the "Eleanor" GT500Es at the same time under the Shelby license. This car is production number 001 of GT350SR produced, with only 11 cars thought to have been assigned Shelby serial numbers according to Shelby licensing. This car is listed in the Shelby Registry and was the feature car in a 9-page article of Street Fords magazine issue number 146. It has less than 1,000 miles since its completion in 2003.
This Shelby is powered by a 408ci Shelby-tuned Windsor small-block V8 engine with electronic fuel injection backed by a TKO 5-speed manual transmission, Currie 31-spline 9-inch posi-traction differential and 3.25:1 ratio. The interior features Carroll Shelby embroidered signature hi-back bucket seats in leather, a G-force 5-point quick release harness, Hurricane air conditioning system, Eclipse CD stereo, Lecarra wood steering wheel, Shelby aluminum pedals, a shift lever, and gear knob. Mechanically, it features high performance headers, a 2.5-inch side pipe exhaust system, a Griffin aluminum radiator with electric cooling fan, trunk-mount battery, 16-gallon rear fuel cell, power rack & pinion steering and BAER tracker bump steer adjustable tie rods. Braking is handled by a BAER track touring system with slotted, cross-drilled rotors in the front and rear, vented air ducts to front and rear brakes. The chassis is a Unique Performance products sub-frame connector system, shock tower brace, and 4-point roll bar.
The suspension consists of a Unique Performance coilover front with QA1 gas shocks and rear coilover suspension. Included with the GT350SR is a fitted blue fleece car cover, Shelby-branded floor mats, authentic Shelby signed glove box door, original Street Fords magazine featuring this very car, Quaker State oil advertisement showing this car, Unique Performance brochure and various other articles. The tires were replaced in 2019 and a new, modern Powermods fuel injection unit, injectors, battery, and ignition system were installed.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
