Ford Pick Up Flathead V8 1929

General description : 1929 Ford Convertible Pickup If you are looking for a fun nostalgic cruiser then look no further!  This 1929 Ford Convertible Pickup has a great old school look and runs down the road well.  The original steel body is free from any major rust issues and was hand painted in Yellow for that old school weathered look.  The vintage Mooneyes Equipment logo has been added to the doors and is something all hot rodders will recognize.  Certain features like the headlights have been intentionally left untouched to keep the patina in tact.  A 32 Grill shell and grill have been added to the truck and is painted to match.  Short wood panels have been added to the bed and are painted Red which ties in nicely with the 16 inch Red spoke wheels.  The wheels are wrapped with wide white wall Coker tires that still have plenty of life left.  The motor is just as old school as the rest of the car and looks great being exposed with no hood or side panels.  It is a Flathead V8 motor out of a 1949 Mercury.  It starts up smoothly and gets this pickup rolling down the road with no issues.  It has been fitted with high compression Offenhauser aluminum heads, 3 carb intake with Stromberg carburetors, a 100 amp alternator, 3/4 race cam, progressive linkage, Taylor spark plug wires, dual exhaust and an electric fuel pump.  An aluminum Griffin radiator has also been added with an electric fan and shroud to so there are no heating issues.   Paired with the engine is a C4 automatic transmission and Winters quick change rear end.  Vintage 1940 11 inch front disc brakes have been added to the car and slow it down with no issues.    The interior has just been finished out using a cool combo of Black with cloth from an Indian Blanket.  The bench seat fits in place nicely and is fitted with racing style lap belts. The dash is painted Black and fitted with the original gauges.  A separate underdash gauge pod has been added as well as a tach on the column.  The automatic shifter is routed through the floor and topped off with a custom gauge pod.  This cool vintage pickup is a fun driver with a great look.  It is always a hit wherever it goes and also comes with a matching Yellow RC cola ice chest that rides in the back.  All this could be yours for the reduced price of $29,500.00 $24,000.00!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
