Ford Ranch Wagon 351 V8 1956

General description : 1956 Ford Ranch Wagon We are proud to have this rarely-seen 1956 Ford Ranch Wagon in our showroom. This car just screams life in the 1950’s and instantly takes you back to a world that was much simpler. It has been a “rolling restoration” enjoyed all along the way up until its completion 3 years ago. Don’t let this station wagon fool you from it’s looks though because there is a lot of power lurking beneath that big steel hood! It is powered by a professionally built 351ci V-8 that has been balanced/blueprinted and outfitted with an Edelbrock intake manifold and carburetor, electric choke, custom painted Holley valve covers, fresh red wiring, new hoses and a Mallory distributor. The ultra-reliable C-6 transmission has less than 2,000 miles on it and shifts just as it should through to the stock rear-end getting the car on down the road effortlessly. It sounds great whether just idling or running through the gears at speed with the custom dual exhaust complete with Flowmasters. Outside, the wagon is painted in a show-quality two-tone scheme in Seafoam Green and Pearl White that absolutely glistens in the sunlight. All of the redone chrome, trim and glass are exceptional, as are the window seals. The drum brakes have recently all been serviced and the pads replaced. She sits on chrome wheels with very rare Mercury hubcaps and wide-white Coker tires. The windshield wipers are still vacuum powered and working fine, but the electric conversion kit has been purchased and goes with the car should you decide to install. The interior of the car is in the same or better condition than when it rolled off of the assembly line in ’56. The steel dash is also painted in Sea Foam green to match the exterior surrounding the original gauge cluster including a clock…all of which work as they should. A set of S&W gauges has also been installed to ensure accuracy and reliability since this wagon was meant to be driven! The seats have all been reupholstered in green, period-correct vinyl with plush blue fabric creating a nice contrast and the carpet is also like-new. It is equipped with the functioning factory AM radio along with all of the original switches and knobs. The trunk, with full spare intact, is just like the rest of the car in like-new condition. The Ranch Wagon is an ultimate family hauler or road trip classic that showcases all that Ford had to offer in the Customline series of cars. This example is a fully restored and upgraded classic station wagon that displays the best in quality, performance, and curb appeal. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy this classic for only $35,900.00! This car is being represented for a collector in the Seattle, Washington area.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
