Ford Roadster 1932

General description : A striking celebration of the dawn of hot rodding, this handsome roadster is certainly a revered classic. Given its exceptional customization, proven powertrain and choice Brookville Roadster steel, the car is definitely a first-class build. And as a stunning Dearborn delight that's comfortable, fully sorted and ready to rock and roll, this Ford embodies a level of fun that most enthusiasts spend a lifetime trying to attain. Looking for a world class, pro-built hot rod that's remarkably stylish and undeniably cool? Check out this incredible Deuce drop-top!
THE REAL DEAL
The product of a detailed, ground-up build that backed many hours with many Benjamins, this razor sharp roadster is constructed on premium Brookville steel that was professionally massaged by renowned classic car builder Dan Van Auken. Recognize that name from the internet and buff books? If not, just know two things: 1) Dan is a lifetime fabricator and race car builder who owns and runs Havasu Speed Equipment in Lake Havasu, Arizona. And 2) In addition to churning out high-dollar customs like this Ford, Havasu Speed Equipment is a prominently featured speed shop that, most recently, entered an absolutely breathtaking 1957 Lincoln Continental in SEMA's 2019 Battle of the Builders. All that expertise means this Deuce's gloriously simple profile mixes smooth, arrow-straight planes with choice customization that would give any national award winning hot rod a serious run for its money. And since a profile that nice deserves to be seen and celebrated, it wears silky Jaguar British Racing Green single-stage that's somehow delightfully fresh while being decidedly vintage.
An interesting tidbit about this Ford is that Havasu Speed Equipment actually put the car on a jig to make sure all its body tolerances were tight and correct. That astute attention to detail carries over into numerous subtle tweaks that really set this roadster apart from average, everyday builds. For example, the car's custom top is a hand-fabricated piece that evolved through three different full-scale mock-ups. Its virtually perfect proportions are made up of tight Mercedes cloth, a removable glass backlite and a gorgeous African Mahogany header. That header tops a smoked DuVall windshield, which aligns perfectly with a Center Step Hood. That hood, a three-piece unit that's louvered on every surface, follows a custom 'Deuce' emblem that, in addition to being sterling silver, has been carefully recessed into the car's grille shell. That shell, lowered by one inch, frames a bright grille behind a polished spreader bar and custom frame horn covers. Those removable covers reflect Guide 682-C headlights, which lead a shaved profile that's textured with reworked wheel tubs and traditional Peep Mirrors. Functional cowl vents ride a custom cowl that's been modified to mimic a 1935 Ford. A louvered decklid shades a louvered fuel tank panel, which tilts a classy 'V8' fuel cap above a second polished spreader and more custom frame covers. Old school Pontiac taillights have been recessed into a custom tail panel that's so subtle it'll probably take spectators multiple looks to discover. And everything is highlighted by some of the best pinstriping that's ever rolled through our RK Motors showroom.
SMALL BLOCK SUPERSTAR
Professionally assembled by the pros at Havasu Speed Equipment, this deuce's 327 cubic inch Chevrolet small block backs solid horsepower with excellent appeal! At the top of that delightfully traditional mill, a polished air cleaner weaves wind into old school tri-power induction. Those carbs, wired with a coated pump, an AC filter and two pressure gauges, feed a coated aluminum intake and lightweight aluminum heads. Those heads tilt polished covers opposite aluminum roller rockers and a hydraulic roller cam. That cam plays well with a forged crank, 4130 rods and forged pistons. Combustion gets sparked by a PerTronix Flame-Thrower distributor and loomed MSD Street Fire Wires. Pliable V-belts, doubled up for the sake of durability, spin a polished Powermaster alternator that's designed to look like a vented generator. Cooling is provided by a stainless-capped heavy duty radiator. Spent gases traverse coated Ram Horn-style exhaust manifolds. And naturally, the smooth engine rumbles in a sea of first-rate details that includes polished bars, a spry mini starter, custom-fabricated heater tubes and a custom hood latch system that's designed to be used and not seen.
1932 PLUS 90
While this Ford might look traditional it is, first and foremost, a world class street rod. That means every inch of its style rolls on thoroughly modern hardware that was engineered from the ground up to combine the best aspects of head-turning aesthetics and modern performance. The foundation for those great dynamics is boxed and pinched '32 Ford frame rails that have been intricately reinforced with tubing. Naturally, all that work was carefully smoothed before being bathed in rich Jaguar British Racing Green single-stage. At the center of those bones, an easy Tremec 5-speed pushes power through a polished Quick Change rear axle. That drivetrain rides a custom rear-clip, which supplements a Ford Model A Buggy Spring with custom link points, a beefy sway bar and polished Bilstein shocks. That clip pushes a custom front-half, which mixes traditional hairpins, Ford spindles and more polished shocks with a Panhard Bar, custom shock mounts and a 4-inch dropped axle that's been both drilled and plated. Turns come courtesy of Vega Cross Steering. Big Buick drums, polished, modded and vented for good measure, join painted Ford drums to provide predictably solid stops. Custom exhaust threads coated tubes through deep Flowmaster Hushpower mufflers to polished tailpipes. At the corners, green-trimmed Halibrand Sprints chase 155R15 Firestone F-560s with 215/85R16 Firestone Transforce HTs. And the build's meticulous finishing touches include stainless hardware, a custom battery box, a Wilwood clutch reservoir and a custom, dual-reservoir master cylinder.
SIMPLY CUSTOM
This Deuce's custom cockpit, installed by Lakeside, California's McKee Upholstery, mixes the best aspects of vintage simplicity with the best aspects of timeless style. Front and center, a custom dash hangs crisp, engine-turned accents around a small glovebox, a Hot Rod Heater and stylish AutoMeter telemetry. German Square Weave carpet frames a polished E-brake, a polished Spoon accelerator and a polished shifter that's complete with a trick ball. Sculpted side panels hang small storage pockets in front of snazzy speakers, which bump beats from remote-controlled Custom Autosound audio. Like those panels, the car's broad bench seat manifests as distressed Amelia Leather Marrone. The driver stays connected to the road through a '40 Ford steering wheel, which laps modern pushbutton ignition. And the car's clean trunk hides a polished fire extinguisher next to a structured roll bar that's shod in hand laced leather.
Storming the streets almost 90 years ago, Ford's original hot rod remains one of the hottest collector cars on the market. This incredible, all-steel roadster is a world class custom that features proven performance, perennial style and the kind of meticulous detailing that turns automobilia into art. There really isn't a better hobby on earth than owning a classic car, and driving this exceptional Deuce is an excellent way to celebrate that hobby!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
