Beautiful Custom 1946 Ford ½ Ton Delivery Sedan
New to our Benicia showroom is this absolutely gorgeous 1946 Ford Delivery 1/2 Ton 2 Door Sedan with purple exterior paint and a grey tweed interior. You’ll find that the body is chopped and shaved with Frenched lights and vintage Billet accessories throughout to give it that fierce old school vibe. All of that attitude is backed up with a roaring 350 V-8 engine, a Turbo 350 automatic transmission, Vintage air, Boyd Coddington wheels, door poppers and so much more. This awesome custom Ford has to be seen in person to be truly appreciated and it is available at a steal of a price for such a quality vintage build.
Chopped Top, Shaved Body Lines, Frenched Lights & More
The current owner of this outstanding 1946 Ford Delivery Sedan informs us that it’s been enjoyed by five other owners across its lifetime until he took possession in 2015. He informs us that this classic underwent a very high level restoration a number of years ago where the top was chopped, the door handles were shaved, the lights and signals were frenched and dozens of other customizations. The exterior body was also smoothed to perfection with high quality paint and a completely custom tweed interior.
Mechanically, you’ll find an early 70’s Camaro front clip with a Chevy small block, a Chevy running gear, and tons of Billet chrome accessories to really stand out. This classic muscle car handles beautifully on the open road with above average performance all-around.
As for its present condition, this 1946 Ford ½ Ton Delivery Sedan still shines nicely with above average paint that only shows minimal chips and scratches. About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.
In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.
In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
