Ford Sedan-Delivery 350 V8 1941

General description : 1941 Ford Sedan Delivery In 1941, Ford put a lot of updates into their vehicles and it was a good thing considering WWII was quickly approaching and brought with it the temporary closing of all manufacturers.  This gap in time meant that for half the decade the 41 Ford was among the newest cars rolling around.  While the Sedan Delivery was originally created with people like the traveling salesman in mind, the look has continued to be extremely popular today and is the base for some of the coolest customs around.  This 41 Sedan Delivery has an awesome look and perfectly combines some modern comforts with old school touches.  The steel body is in great shape and is all straight and rust free.  It is painted in Ford Blue with traditional Hot Rod flames that suite the body lines perfectly.  We have seen many styles of flames laid down over the years but there is just something about the Vintage Traditional look you can't beat.  All of the bright work is in great shape as is all of the stainless trim that runs the length of the entire car.  It has Rock Valley One piece stainless bumpers and brackets in front and rear.  All of the tinted glass is in good condition as well and it has the two piece windshield up front.  Keeping that windshield clean is the aftermarket Newport Two speed intermittent electric wipers.  The side Fatties billet convex door mirrors are a nice addition and really improve the rear view on on a long car like this.  It has tear drop front headlights and in back the lights were converted to LED for much higher visibility than stock.  The car rolls around on PS Engineering Kidney Bean wheels with knock off style center caps and are wrapped in Hankook radials that have plenty of life left in them.  We know the car looks good but how does it run?  Excellent!  The drivetrain was entirely redone with reliability in mind.  Under the hood it features a 350 V8 motor that runs very well.  One cool thing that was done was it was built to look like a Ford motor which is a nice touch.  It has a Holley 4 barrel carburetor, Serpentine front drive belt system, Sanden AC compressor, Scott Drake Cobra oval air cleaner, and PML Ford powder coated valve covers which not only add to the look but are extremely easy to keep clean.  Over heating is never a concern even in this Texas heat because it has been fitted with an Aluminum radiator, Cooling Components dual speed fan and a Dakota Digital fan controller.  Paired with the motor is a Pheonix TH350 Automatic transmission and 10 bolt 2.73 gear rear end.  During the build a bunch of Chassis Engineering components were used to improve the ride and provide a strong undercarriage.  This includes the Mustang II front end, motor mounts, the transmission mount and cross member, the front and rear sway bars, and the rear spring hangers, perches, leaf springs in shocks.  In addition it has a rack and pinion steering system, rear air shocks and Heidt dropped spindles.  Other notable features include the power brakes (disc front), great sounding dual exhaust, and a stainless steel 16 gallon tank.    The interior of this classic has been completely redone with the same high level of quality as the rest.  It is finished out in a Red and off White color combo that looks great.  The rear section has a ton of storage space and the Red carpeting is nicely accented by chrome runners like they use in pickup beds.  Up front it has Fiero bucket seats with matching lap belts and they sit to each side of a custom center console with cupholders and storage.  The dash is out of a 1940 Ford and completely painted to match the body.  It is topped with a Bob Drake instrument panel with VDO gauges, Vintage AC/Heat controls and billet knobs.  The AC vents are very nicely molded into the dash and look like they should be factory.  It also has a Vintage Air Evaporator mounted under the dash.  In front of the driver sits a painted to match tilt GM column with a reduced diameter Grant walnut banjo steering wheel.  This is a very well and cleanly built car that needs nothing besides a new driver to take it out and show it off.  It is definitely unique and is packed full of well thought out and high end components to make it not just a looker but a great cruiser as well.  This well built custom could be yours for only NOW REDUCED DOWN TO $46,500.00!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
