Ford Thunderbird 312 1957

General description : 1957 Ford Thunderbird, 20 Miles On Complete Restoration

Just Toys Classic Cars is proud to present a beautiful piece of 50's history. The year is 1957, Elvis was at the top of the charts with all shook up, life was good, people were getting new cars every time you turned around, and they kept getting nicer, more wings on them, more chrome, and just nicer and nicer cars. Before you is a stunning 1957 Ford Thunderbird Convertible. You do not get any better than this car. This is the car that kept the Corvette alive. Ford was outselling Chevrolet almost 10 to 1 with the T Bird to the Vette and this car was why. This car has been restored in 1995 and has only had 25 miles put on it since that was done. As you will see in the pics, the paint is miles deep, top and bottom. The cadmium plated parts have been redone in cadmium plating and not repainted. This is a stunning car and one that you must have in your collection today.
So, now you reach in and pop the hood, and lift it up to find a well appointed engine bay with the stock 312 it was born with. Everything was gone through on this car, and this motor fires right up every time. This powerful motor is mated to the original automatic transmission and out to the stock rear end. This car is so much fun to drive. Unlike most of the early models that didn't even have an option to get power steering and brakes, you could get it on the 1957 and this one has both on it. This car stops on a dime and turns with ease. Again, it just goes to how much fun and easier that this T bird is to drive compared to the first year birds. This one has all the stickers in all the right places under the hood and was meticulously redone.
Obviously, you want to hear how this bird runs, so you jump in the driver door give it a couple pumps and hit that key and hear that come to life. Once it fires up, it just purrs, and makes you want to jump in and just find a long stretch of open road to go cruise down. Now, just throw this baby in to drive and get ready to have more thumbs up thrown at you than you may ever have had in your life.
This car is an attention grabber everywhere it goes. The red bench seat had been redone as well as the rest of the interior and it is very comfortable. Have your sweetie by your side and cruise the boulevard. We just can not say enough how much fun this car is to drive, how beautiful it looks, and how well it runs. We offer classic car financing for those that would like to take advantage of the option. It allows you to get the car of your dreams with great rates and terms and pay it off when you want to. We look forward to speaking with you soon, and we look forward to making you the newest member of the Just Toys Classic Cars family.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
