Ford Vicky 350 V8 1932

General description : BEAUTIFULLY BUILT STREETROD, 350 V8, CUSTOM CHASSIS, 4 DISCS, VINTAGE A/C, A+!!

In a world of hot-rod factories turning out seemingly endless variations of the same car, this 1932 Ford victoria comes as a welcome bit of contrast. Sure, it's fiberglass, but the extra effort to make it unique really pays off with a cool look and impeccable attention to detail, making this one truly stand out.
The Downs Fiberglass victoria body style is the ideal blend of sporty and practical. Not as frumpy as a 2-door sedan but with a back seat that coupes can't offer, it's just a great-looking car. As you can see, the builder nailed the 1932 Ford look, with flowing fenders, a painted radiator shell up front, and sizzling Guards Red paint to make it stand out. Despite being finished in the late '90s, that brilliant red paint is simply gorgeous and there must be hundreds of hours in the prep work and final finish, making this a car that will still stand out everywhere it goes. The three-piece hood gives it a neatly finished look, but they didn't waste time on extraneous details: no pinstripes or graphics, no extra chrome, and flush-mounted taillights out back that keep a low profile. With slightly tinted glass, simple spreader bars fore and aft, and those little mirrors, it looks timeless and sleek and likely always will.
They colored a bit outside the lines for the interior, too, giving it a modern look with interesting materials. The tan buckets are from a late-model and are nicely upholstered to be both striking and comfortable. Matching door panels look dramatic and the fully finished back seat area is big enough for adults. Features like a center console, a tilt column, Vintage Air A/C, and an AM/FM stereo in that center console are all included, as you'd expect from a quality rod like this. The gauges are from VDO and are fitted neatly into the dash for a clean look that doesn't seem to be trying too hard. Power windows and door poppers are part of the package in most hot rods, with this one featuring emergency openers hidden under the front fenders on both sides; someone was really thinking when this one went together!
Mechanically, this one was built to run. Power comes from a built Chevy 350 cubic inch V8 that with 4-bolt mains and an .030 overbore for reliability and performance. A familiar Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor feeds the sturdy small block and it's lit up by an HEI ignition system. Everything is polished, plated, or painted, which is important when your engine is on display and you can see that a lot of extra time went into making the wiring and plumbing look neat. With a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and highway-friendly gears out back, it's an effortless highway The Just-A-Hobby chassis and most of the components were painted to match the bodywork, and anything that wasn't painted was plated so it's worth showing the underside whenever you can. It's been driven 7226 miles since it was completed, so it's not perfect but you also know it's sorted and it still looks fantastic. Shiny Billet Specialties wheels have a retro look and carry a big-n-little tire combination that gives the car a suitable hot rod rake.
This gorgeous Vicky is an awesome way to stand out in a crowd without reinventing the wheel. Fully sorted and ready to go, it's always smartest to buy someone else's finished car. Call today!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
