1962 Jaguar Evolution Hi Torque E-Type Fixed Head Coupe (LHD)

Finished in the iconic colour combination of Indigo Blue coachwork, Stone Grey soft grain hide, matching Grey Wilton carpets bound in leather and drivers quilted heel mat. The cockpit is finished off with West of England headlining, hand-stitched leather top role and an exquisite  alloy gearbox tunnel. The workmanship and materials used in this car are the finest quality, parallel to Rolls Royce standard, just stunning!

A host of well thought out 21st-century additions added during the restoration include deleted manual windows and winders to add fully electric windows in their place plus central locking, toughened XXX Glass for noise reduction, air conditioning, electric power steering, heated front window with an integrated radio antenna to avoid drilling into the beautiful coachwork.

ENGINE WORKS:

Retaining and using the original block and head – chemi-cleaned, all new top hat liners, scat crank, BME pistons, Saenz rods, G&S s/s valves, all-steel flywheel, Newman cams, bronze valves guides, unleaded seats, Iwis chains, sprockets, bearings, Sachs clutch, pendulum crank damper, billet cam covers, valve stem seals, alloy water pump c/w carbon ceramic seals and s/s impeller, composite gaskets throughout, SFL rear seal, s/s core plugs and fixings – etch primed and epoxy coated.

Hi-Torque –  The stroke of the engine has increased the capacity to 4.2. The works carried out essentially leave the head alone bar cleaning up the ports and fitting slightly bigger inlets. The cams are standard but with advancing the timing slightly gives more mid-range at the expense of top-end power. The end result is maximum torque all the way from idle to red line. BHP is improved but the real benefit is bucket loads of torque, where you need it most – between 1500 and 4000 rpm. The standard 3.8 L engine is around 200lb/ft at 3000 rpm – with the hi Torque built this will be touching 300lb/ft spread over the entire operating range, some 50% more on the standard engines.
