Model historie en beschrijving:
Genoemd naar een historische Romeinse weg van Tortona naar Torino, de Via Fulvia, was het dé auto die Lancia op de rally-sport kalender zette. Als een ode aan de rally auto's uit de eerste serie Fulvia's verscheen in 1967 de Fulvia Rallye 1.3 met als bijzonderheid de aluminium deuren, kofferklep en motorkap die ook voor de rally en HF modellen werden gebruikt. Het motorvermogen was dankzij een doorontwikkeling van de bijzondere V4 gestegen tot 87pk. De slechts 925kg wegende 1.3 was een voor die tijd rappe sportcoupe. De Fulvia behaalde mede dankzij de voorwielaandrijving veel overwinningen in diverse belangrijke rally's. Uiteindelijk werd in 1972 zelfs het wereldkampioenschap rally gewonnen. Technisch was de Fulvia zeer vooruitstrevend en degelijk gebouwd, commercieel deed de kostbare ontwikkeling en bouwwijze Lancia de das om waardoor het uiteindelijk in handen van Fiat kwam. Hoe dat afliep weten we allemaal. De Lancia's die gebouwd werden door het zelfstandige, ooit door Vicenzo Lancia in 1906 opgerichte, bedrijf zijn nu dankzij hun design, bouwkwaliteit en afwerkingsniveau zeer geliefde en waardevolle klassiekers. Dat was vreemd genoeg niet altijd zo, het merk is de laatste jaren bezig aan een flinke inhaalslag, waardoor eventueel noodzakelijke restauraties meestal matig werden uitgevoerd. Wanneer men zich een Fulvia wenst verdient het dus aanbeveling een origineel exemplaar te vinden welke, bijna als vanzelfsprekend, een keer nieuw is gespoten echter verder nog origineel plaatwerk heeft. Echt goede restauraties heb ik gezien, ze zijn helaas zeldzaam. Het hier aangeboden exemplaar is een Fulvia Coupe uit de 1.3 Rallye serie in originele staat. Slechts eenmaal om cosmetische redenen nieuw gespoten. Een bijzonder fraai en geconserveerd exemplaar. Uiteraard werden bij het spuiten de ramen verwijderd en de raamrubbers ook vernieuwd. De Fulvia is een icoon met een op zich staande unieke belijning die, samen met de prachtige techniek, daarom wordt herkend door de liefhebber van nu.
Uitrusting:
Opties waren er in die tijd nauwelijks. Op de vloer zijn rubbermatten aanwezig, het fraaie echt houten stuur was standaard.
Exterieur:
De carrosserie van deze Fulvia is mooi geconserveerd en origineel. Perfecte passingen. Het chroom en RVS in uitstekende conditie, mooi diepe glans overal. De raamrubbers zijn allen nieuw. Hoewel het spuitwerk al weer enkele jaren terug werd uitgevoerd heeft de auto geen noemenswaardige gebruikssporen. Geen deukjes, steenslag of andere opvallende beschadigingen. Bumpers mooi recht op de auto en zonder parkeerschade. Origineel glas zonder steenslag rondom. Alles bij elkaar een zeer fraaie verschijning die een foto nooit vertalen kan.
Interieur:
Het interieur is zeer bijzonder te noemen, geheel origineel en onbeschadigd. Een ware tijdmachine, onvoorstelbaar dat dit alles uit 1968 is. Mooi en nog origineel vormgegeven skai op de stoelen. Zeer bijzondere stoelen ook met hun rugleuning met 'doorkijk'. Let op de bijzondere met chroomstrips afgewerkte rugleuning. De stoelen zijn onbeschadigd en hebben geen instapsporen. Op de vloer originele rubbermatten. Hemelbekleding origineel en netjes wit. Alle schakelaars en klokken netjes schoon en goed afleesbaar.
Motorruimte, kofferruimte, velgen & banden:
Voorin treft u de originele V4 motor met zo'n kleine blokhoek dat het bijna een lijnmotor lijkt. Daardoor is het ook een kleine motor in omvang en licht deze relatief laag in de auto. Wel wat ver naar voren, er aan vast in de lengterichting zit de versnellingsbak. De motorruimte is eveneens volledig origineel en mooi schoon. Alle plaatjes en fabrieksnummers keurig aanwezig en goed afleesbaar. Originele Solex carburateurs. Motor loopt mooi rond, klinkt perfect en rookt niet. In de kofferruimte is ook alles origineel en onbeschadigd. Keurige rubbermat op de vloer. Boordgereedschap en volwaardig reservewiel aanwezig. De stalen velgen zijn voorzien van verchroomde ringen en goede banden.
Service geschiedenis:
Deze Lancia Fulvia Rally kocht ik van een chirurg in Torino. Hij onderhield de auto dan ook met chirurgische precisie... en dat is te merken. Vaak is een Italiaan meer geinteresseerd in het uiterlijk van zijn auto dan de techniek. Hier is dat zeker niet het geval. De auto ziet er niet alleen zeer goed uit, zo rijdt ze ook. In Torino en omgeving zijn nog redelijk veel oudere monteurs die de Fulvia met de ogen dicht kunnen repareren en onderhouden. Een van deze mannen is een vriend van de chirurg die altijd voor hem klaarstond. Zie ook de foto's van de zeer verzorgde motorruimte. De auto wordt rijklaar afgeleverd inclusief Nederlands kenteken in 'oud blauw'.
