Lincoln Continental Mark VI V Superb original example, first paint, only 25.908 1979

General description : Enormous,Big, Large and Huge, these are words you associate with the USA, where everything is just that! Our latest acquisition is no exception to this rule! With a length of 5 meters 90 centimeter (230 inch) and weighing 2,5 tonnes, it is the Ford's largest coupe ever! With these measurements they also hung a 6.6 litre engine with a 3-speed automatic. It had a 3-year production run, at a price, even then, of $22,000. This Super-de-Luxe coupe came with a number of modern gadgets; a clock with date display, a fuel gauge showing “ tank empty" when you really have to pay a visit to the petrol station, steering wheel operated cruise control, electric seat adjustment, electric aerial, wing mirror attached external thermometer, luxury leather trim and front seat armrests and of course aircon. With Ford being environmentally aware at the time, they fitted the downsized 6.6 litre engine. For the enthusiast the loss of some power was compensated with 225-75-15 turbine rims. It came standard with a vinyl roof or you could chose to pay $187 more not to have the vinyl. The owner who ordered this car from new in 1979 choose a Champagne Yellow finish, electric sunroof and (drumroll!!!) a digital cassette player, a really special accessory at the time! This gigantic coupe has a number of styling elements; the opera windows in the C-posts, the radiator grill and concealed headlamps which popped open when in use. It amazingly still has 100% of its first lacquer, quite unheard of! The interior shows only minimal signs of use and just 25,908 miles on the clock. Mechanically a perfect car! This car is certainly striking with its stand-out styling, the huge engine and a level of driver and passenger comfort luring you back to the 80’s! About Lincoln
Lincoln, often regarded as more than just an upmarket Ford, has carved its own niche in the automotive world with a rich history and a lineup of distinctive models. Let's take a stroll down the memory lane of Lincoln's story.

Early Beginnings:

Founded in 1917 by Henry Leland, the man behind the Cadillac brand, Lincoln initially started as a luxury automobile company. The brand quickly gained a reputation for its quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.

The Ford Era:

In 1922, Lincoln was acquired by the Ford Motor Company, and this marked the beginning of a long association. Ford aimed to position Lincoln as its luxury division, competing with other prestigious brands in the market.

Classic Models:

Over the years, Lincoln introduced several iconic models that left a lasting impact on the automotive landscape:

Lincoln Continental: Launched in the 1940s, the Continental became an instant classic. Its elegant design and iconic suicide doors made it a symbol of luxury and sophistication.
Lincoln Town Car: Introduced in the 1980s, the Town Car became synonymous with chauffeur-driven luxury. Its spacious interior and smooth ride made it a favorite among executives and dignitaries.
Lincoln Navigator: The late '90s saw the rise of the SUV craze, and Lincoln was quick to respond with the Navigator. A full-size luxury SUV, the Navigator combined opulence with utility and became a popular choice among affluent families.
