Den vorliegenden Auslieferungspapieren ist zu entnehmen, dass der Wagen am 6. September 1962 in die USA ausgeliefert wurde. Laut Register sind dort zwei Besitzer in Florida aufgeführt, bevor der Roadster Anfang der 80iger Jahre nach Deutschland importiert und in 1988 vollständig restauriert wurde. Noch heute existiert eine umfangreiche Fotodokumentation der Restaurierung. Der SL befand sich zuletzt über 30 Jahre in Familienbesitz, wurde nur selten bewegt, und dennoch immer regelmäßig gewartet. Besonders hervorzuheben ist, dass sowohl Fahrgestell-, Karosserie-, und Motornummer wie auch Getriebe, Vorderachse und Lenkgetriebe die begehrten Matching Numbers haben. According to the available built sheet, the car was delivered to the USA on September 6th, 1962.
