The Mercury Cougar underwent an extensive redesign this year, shifting away from the Torino/LTD II chassis towards the smaller Ford Fox platform, sharing a 108-inch wheelbase and body panels with the redesigned Thunderbird. In another change, only the Cougar XR7 personal luxury coupe was carried over from 1979, temporarily marking the discontinuation of a full range of Cougar body styles. This Cougar has a 5.0-liter V8 with a 4-speed automatic. The carburetor has been rebuilt. It is newly painted and has a beautiful shine. The landau roof is a significant contrast to the white paint. The vinyl roof is in great shape. This interior is as you can find in 1980 with a red vinyl interior. The odometer reads 57,294 which is actual mileage. The A/C works like a new car.
