Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this sharp 1969 Pontiac GTO. This green machine is claimed by its owner to be powered by its numbers matching original 400 CID V8 engine and mated to the original 3 speed automatic transmission with only 96,681 undocumented miles driven. The rear end and gears are factory as well in this GOAT. This car can to be taken to shows or even used as a daily driver. Painted in the factory Green (paint code available with owner), this car is stunning and has had minor paintwork competed throughout the years with about 80% of the cars paint being original. The current owner had also added the wing that was matched by the OEM paint. Besides the rear spoiler, the owner has also had the whole suspension gone through, an electric ignition added, the distributor points redone, and even disc brakes added to the front. The owner has also done an amazing job keeping documentation and even has PHS letters. The sport vinyl bucket seats are also original and are green that flows well with the exterior. Driving this car is like butter with its factory A/C, power steering, power brakes, AM radio, shoulder and lap seat belts, and his and hers shifter! This car even has the classic redline radials on it which in my opinion is a must when rolling in a GOAT. If you are looking for a survivor GTO that has not been molested or overly customized, look no further. This one will not be available for long!

Position in GM Hierarchy:
Distinct Identity: Pontiac occupied a unique place within GM, known for its performance-oriented vehicles and youthful branding.
Mid-Level Brand: Positioned above Chevrolet but below the more upscale divisions such as Oldsmobile, Buick, and Cadillac, Pontiac aimed to offer affordable yet sporty cars.

Muscle Car and Pony Car: Shared the platform with the Chevrolet Camaro, featuring distinct Pontiac styling cues.
Variants: Offered various models and engine options, including the Trans Am, which gained fame through movies like "Smokey and the Bandit."
Pontiac Grand Prix (1962-2008):
Personal Luxury Car: Initially a full-size car, later transformed into a mid-size model, known for its blend of comfort and performance.

Impact and Legacy:
Performance Image: Pontiac carved a niche for itself by emphasizing performance, sportiness, and innovation, attracting younger and enthusiast drivers.
Marketing Success: Innovative marketing strategies and successful racing endeavors contributed to Pontiac's popularity and brand image.
Cessation of Production: Unfortunately, due to financial constraints and changes in consumer preferences, GM discontinued the Pontiac brand in 2010, marking the end of its legacy in the automotive industry.
