Pontiac Tempest 5.7 L98 1966

General description : Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to present this stunning 1966 Pontiac Tempest Resto-mod. This stunning '66 was a California car that was fully restored about 14k miles ago in 2013 by the Street Rod Factory in San Marco, California. The car was just repainted a year ago in Intense Indigo Blue. The curb appeal of this dark blue beauty is head turning with its offset 17inch-18inch Torque Thrust 2 Wheels, front and rear air ride suspension system, and new Vortex muffler duel exhaust system peaking out of the rear. When hopping into the driver seat you instantly notice the quality of the interior with its custom stitched cloth seats, LeCarra wood steering wheel, tilt column, power windows, Dakota Digital gauges, Vintage A/C system, brand new stereo system with a back up camera and hidden subwoofer. What makes this '66 stand apart from the rest is its reliable drivetrain and modern features. This Pontiac is powered by a 5.7-liter L98 V8 engine with tune port injection out of an '87 Trans Am, mated to a 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission with a posi traction rear end and 3.55 gears. This thing really moves and can actually be driven daily. To add to that fact, it even has 4-wheel power disc brakes, power steering, and a brand new programable computer system. Not only does popping open the hood make your jaw drop with its March bracket and pulley system and tune port injection, but it is also functional and practical. If you are looking for something that you could take to shows, drive often, or even collect a sought after 60's muscle car, look no further! Iconic Muscle Car: Considered the first true American muscle car, blending performance and style.
Specifications: V8 engines, powerful performance, and aggressive styling made the GTO immensely popular.

Muscle Car and Pony Car: Shared the platform with the Chevrolet Camaro, featuring distinct Pontiac styling cues.
Variants: Offered various models and engine options, including the Trans Am, which gained fame through movies like "Smokey and the Bandit."
Pontiac Grand Prix (1962-2008):
Personal Luxury Car: Initially a full-size car, later transformed into a mid-size model, known for its blend of comfort and performance.

Cessation of Production: Unfortunately, due to financial constraints and changes in consumer preferences, GM discontinued the Pontiac brand in 2010, marking the end of its legacy in the automotive industry.
