1994 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 (LHD) For Sale In London

This beautiful Carrera 2 is from the last year of 964 production and came finished in Raspberry Red Metallic (Himbeer Rot Metallic) with Linen leather sports seats. Our 964 comes equipped with genuine Fuchs forged light alloys which have many advantages such as;

The 964 is not only one of the last air-cooled 911, but for many, the most beautiful version of the sports car icon. It was considered to be 85% new as compared to its predecessor, the Carrera 3.2. The first 964s available in 1989 were all wheel drive equipped “Carrera 4” models; Porsche added the rear wheel drive Carrera 2 variant to the range in 1990. Both variants were available as a Coupe, Targa or Cabriolet. A new naturally aspirated engine called the M64 was used for 964 models, with a flat-6 displacement of 3.6 litres. Porsche substantially revised the suspension, replacing torsion bars with coil springs and shock absorbers. Power steering and ABS brakes were added to the 911 for the first time; both were standard. The exterior bumpers and fog lamps became flush with the car for better aerodynamics. A new electric rear spoiler raised at speeds above 50 mph and lowered down flush with the rear engine lid at lower speeds. A new automatic climate control system provided improved heating and cooling. Revised instrumentation housed a large set of warning lights that were tied into the car’s central warning system, alerting the driver to a possible problem or malfunction.

About Porsche 911 / 964
The Porsche 964 is the internal designation for the Porsche 911 models produced between 1989 and 1994. It was the successor to the Porsche 3.2 Carrera and was designed to be a more refined and modern version of the classic Porsche 911.

One of the major changes in the 964 was the introduction of an all-wheel-drive system, called the Carrera 4. The 964 was also the first Porsche 911 to feature power steering, anti-lock brakes, and an airbag as standard equipment. In addition, the suspension was updated to provide a smoother ride and better handling.

The 964 was powered by a range of engines, including a 3.3-liter turbocharged flat-six, a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated flat-six, and a 3.6-liter turbocharged flat-six. The top-of-the-line 964 Turbo S was capable of producing 385 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the fastest production cars of its time.

Today, the Porsche 964 is considered a classic sports car and is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. While it may not have the same level of performance as some of the newer Porsche 911 models, the 964 is still a thrilling car to drive and offers a unique driving experience that is difficult to replicate with modern cars.

As a hobbyist car, the Porsche 964 is popular among collectors and enthusiasts who enjoy working on and restoring classic cars. Its relatively simple design and mechanics make it a good choice for those who are interested in learning about automotive restoration and maintenance.

Overall, the Porsche 964 is an important part of Porsche's history and remains a beloved car among automotive enthusiasts around the world. Its unique combination of classic styling, modern features, and high performance capabilities make it a true icon of the Porsche brand.
