Porsche 912 1968

General description : Trade-in car. This 1968 Porsche 912 is in remarkable original condition. It is actually a Porsche 912 Targa with a fixed rear screen. The bodywork is completely original and in great shape, totally rust-free with nice and thin, correctly aligned panelwork. A few paintwork blemishes reveal the car’s age. Underneath the car is as solid as a rock and in fine fettle. It is a joy to behold the car’s interior. The cloth upholstery and grey carpets are in good condition. An additional benefit is that cloth doesn’t get as hot and sticky in the heat as the standard vinyl upholstery would. The dashboard is neat with all controls and gauges working as they should. The engine is the very same one it left the Stuttgart factory with, making this therefore a matching numbers car. The engine was recently overhauled and runs fantastically. The gearbox shifts with precision and is in excellent working order. All this fine Porsche 912 requires is some attention to its paintwork. Taking the broader view; this must be a simple way to preserve a lovely Porsche 912 Targa. THIS VEHICLE IS IN OUR STORAGE, VIEWING BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

About Porsche 912
The Porsche 912 was introduced in 1965 as a more affordable option to the 911. It was essentially a 911 with a 4-cylinder engine instead of the 911's 6-cylinder engine. The 912 was designed to appeal to drivers who appreciated the performance and handling of the 911 but were looking for a more affordable option.

Despite the smaller engine, the 912 had many of the same features as the 911, including disc brakes and independent suspension. It was also lighter than the 911, which made it more nimble and agile.

The Porsche 912 quickly gained a following among enthusiasts who appreciated its handling and performance, as well as its more affordable price tag. Today, the 912 is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts, and is considered a classic Porsche model. And as the owners know 912 will out handle any 911 of the era.
