It replaced the 944, which it shared 20% of its parts with, also taking over the entry level position for Porsche. The 968 was offered as a coupe or a convertible. It is powered by a 3.0L, 16-valve, straight 4-cylinder engine that produces 237 horsepower and 225 lb-ft torque. A 6-speed manual transmission transfers the power to the rear end with authority. This Porsche 968 is finished in Grey Metallic, which is believed to be one of only 47 in that particular color. The black leather interior matches the exterior color beautifully, it does show some age, but still presents well. The convertible top was replaced in 2016, at that time the power top was disabled, and converted to a manual top operation. The odometer reads 82,064, which represents the actual mileage on the car.
