Located near Geneva & part of an extensive collection of Rolls Royce & Bentley cars that we have been retained to conduct the sale of.
Chassis number 31RY is a very original limousine by the king of coachbuilders Hooper. This is a car in impeccable driving condition with an engine that starts almost every time when warm from the advance/retard lever. Importantly the engine has a brand new cylinder head fitted, a known weak point on these cars. The engine runs in silence & is powerful in operation. On the day of our photographs we drove it 10 miles up a steep swiss pass which it handled with aplomb in third gear with the temperature never rising above 80 degrees from the 65 degrees it exhibited whilst on the flat. Oil pressure is also excellent.
The car is finsihed in buttermilk yellow over black with the paint being in good tidy condition. The interior is largely original to the car with the exception of the front two seat bases that have been recovered in black leather. To the rear is gold velour trim extending to the door cards & twin pull out occasional seats making this a full 7 seat vehicle. The burr walnut is all in lovely original conditon as it came from Hooper & pleasingly has not been re-finished.
Under the bonnet the car is tidy & well detailed. It has been maintained without regards to cost by a Rolls Royce specialist. The only deviation from original being a modern coil fitted in place of the old one. The one shot lubrication system is connected & working as its maker intended. The car is in EEC free circulation so no taxes need be paid should it remain in the EEC countries. It represents a chance to enter phantom ownership at the lower end of the price scale with a car in impeccable condition & needing nothing doing to it.
I have to stress how well this car drives. It is very original & has not been "Got at" & drives in a manner that these cars never do once they have been disassembled & then restored. Driving it is a grand experience as it simply wafts one down the road in unruffled silance with sharp brakes & easy steering. Viewings are by prior appointmant with Geneva being the nearest airport.
We conducted a full & thorough road test covering many miles on the day of photography & can vouch for the excellent condition of the car as indeed were all the cars in the collection.

Customization was the name of the game, and the Phantom VI was a canvas for the world's wealthiest to express their unique tastes.
Now, it's impossible to discuss Rolls-Royce without mentioning the Rolls-Royce Corniche. Produced from 1971 to 1995, it was a convertible and coupe version of the Silver Shadow. The Corniche was the quintessential grand tourer, a car for those who wished to traverse continents in absolute luxury.
