General description :
1925 Sunbeam 14/40 four door Saloon
Chassis number: 5277E
Registration number: NP6215
An incredibly low mileage car with documented history detailing just 22,000 miles from new. Numerous newspaper articles come with the car documenting its discovery in a garage where it had slumbered for decades having been laid up in 1930 due to the onset of illness by its first owner. It returned to the road in 2007 having been fettled & had bits of paintwork done to put it back in order.
The car comes with assorted correspondence dating back to 1925 between Sunbeam, the owner Mr. Longhurst & various period garages. Pictures of the car being rejuvenated come with the car. The body was removed from the chassis for painting, but pleasingly all the original interior has been retained. It is indeed a wonderfully original car.
To the interior is original buttoned burgundy hide in patinated but fine condition. The door cards are similarly finished & the car sports red carpets. The respray was done in the cars original colours of Maroon over Black & the paint is thus in lovely order.
The body of the car is Sunbeams' own 4 door saloon coachwork made in Wolverhampton. A smokers hatch is fitted to the roof for ventilation. The dash is the original wood item with all the usual instruments present & correct. A temperature gauge is fitted to the top of the radiator. To the roof interior are a set of net hat racks.
I have to say that this is one of the more lovely low mileage & original cars we have had the pleasure to handle. It drives beautifully & is taut & tight as one might expect of such a low mileage car.
