Sollten Sie nicht so tief im Thema drinstecken, wollen wir Ihr Wissen zumindest in einem Punkt rasch erweitern: Dieses Coupé, das Sie aktuell auf den paar Fotos bewundern, haben vielleicht noch ein paar Dutzend weitere, stolze Besitzer in ihren deutschen Garagen. Viel mehr werden es nicht sein, so unsere vorsichtige Schätzung. Unsere jahrelange Suche nach genau diesem Celica-Modell ließ uns geduldig und demütig werden. Wenn da draußen keiner mehr so ein Auto hat, bzw. verkaufen will, dann schwindet die Hoffnung zusehens Jahr für Jahr.
Unser angebotener Celica wurde umfassend überarbeitet, beginnend mit dem Technik-Transfer des gesamten 1600 GT-Antriebstrangs und der damit verbundenen Mehrleistung von 25 PS zum GSR. Das Fahrwerk wurde neu gelagert und auf BILSTEIN "sportliche Straße" umgerüstet. Gleichzeitig wurden 4 O.Z. Alufelgen mit der harmonischen Bereifung 185/70 HR13 montiert. Die Innenausstattung wurde in schwarzem Leder und Sport-Teppichsatz minimiert auf 2 Nürburgring-Sitze von Bielstein B.F. Torino. Die Auspuffanlage wurde erneuert, ebenso die Lichtmaschine. Eine sehr hochwertige Neulackierung läßt den Toyota erstklassig glänzen, und darüber hinaus sind alle wesentlichen technischen Arbeiten an dem Wagen erledigt. Bremsen, Kühlung, Kupplung, Motor, Getriebe: Top!
Insbesondere ist der Celica absolut rostfrei und wurde offenbar auf grundgesunder Basis neu aufgebaut. Sowohl Unterboden als auch Motor-und Kofferraum präsentieren sich in einwandfreiem Zustand. In "freier Wildbahn" auf der Straße fahrend nur noch ungefähr so häufig wie ein 6er im Lotto anzutreffen. Jeder Veranstalter einer Rallye wird den Celica mit Freuden aufnehmen, um seine Veranstaltung damit zu bereichern. Und sein Besitzer kann inzwischen hohe Wetten abschließen – einen weiteren wird es nicht zu sehen geben….
