Toyota FJ40 40 Fully restored condition, like new! 1977

General description : Forget your SUV’s! Those modern soft-roaders couldn’t pull a caravan across a wet field. This is the real stuff. If you want to leave the trusted path, then no other car will do. We would would like to introduce you to our wonderful 1977 Toyota FJ 40. It is an original German supplied car in the then available top of the range version. It is the indestructible Toyota 2F 4.2 litre straight-six with an overhead camshaft. The car entered the German traffic on the 7th April 1977 and has only had 5 owners since. In 2020 the car had a fully body-off restoration. Its current condition is nothing less than superb. Invoices show that where possible only new factory parts were used. As the previous owner did most of the work not every hour needed to be declared. None the less an impressive total of €24,000.- in invoices is present. During the restoration the frame and bodywork were sandblasted before receiving its wonderful spray finish. A totally new exhaust was made as were the hood, door cards and carpets. The seats and benches have been upholstered in leather, a rare feature. The wheels have been refurbished and shod in new tyres, the shock breakers and suspension bushes have also been replaced with new parts. The Toyota FJ 40 is a simple vehicle, the 4.2 litre straight-six is coupled to a manual 4-speed with manual 4-wheel drive selector. The cars appearance is not the only thing to delight one and all, the mechanics are divine too. The perfect running engine always having ample torque. The transmission applies itself precisely and every diff has new gaskets cutting out any risk of leakage. The Toyota’s road handling is nothing less than perfect! The car comes with a copy of the original fahrzeugbrief mentioning its previous owners and including the earlier mentioned invoices and descriptions.
