General Overview

After making the Supra its own distinct series departing significantly from the Celica line, the fourth generation Supra Turbo arrived in 1993 as a serious performance car, capable of competing against top European offerings. The sequential twin-turbo engine propelled the Supra to 4.5 second 0-60 times with 13 second quarter miles and jaw-dropping handling.

In addition to the robust power on tap from the 3.0 liter 320 hp 2JZ-GTE engine, the 6-speed Getrag manual transmission was a great addition to the driving experience. Aluminum components were used throughout the car to lighten weight including cast alloy front A-arms, an aluminum hood, aluminum front cross member, and numerous alloy transmission parts, all of which lightened the car by nearly 200 lbs. from the previous third generation Supra.

All these details are documented in two handwritten notebooks with dates of service, mileage entries for each date, and detailed notations on services performed.

Condition Overview

With just one California owner since purchased new, the owner was careful to document the mechanical condition and thoughtfully preserve the cosmetic condition as well. The rare Anthracite Metallic paint remains in excellent condition with beautiful gloss to the factory finish, showing no significant scratches or blemishes of note. The finish has been digitally metered, returning numbers consistent with original paint as displayed on all exterior metal surfaces. The front and rear bumper cap were painted to match for cosmetic freshening in 2018. Fit of the doors, hood, and rear hatchback are excellent opening and closing with Toyota precision. The cast alloy wheels are in very good condition with a few minor curb marks, but still displaying the correct factory painted silver finish, earing Bridgestone Potenza tires showing plenty of remaining tread. The body-colored bumpers, side view mirrors, and unique headlight clusters are all in excellent condition. The glass throughout the car is original and in excellent condition. According to several sources, the Anthracite/tan interior 6-speed cars are very rare with only 95 produced for the 1994 year of manufacture.

Inside, the car has been optioned with rare tan leather interior. Accentuated by the sweeping black dashboard and center console, the interior is in excellent condition offering a cohesive appearance to the materials and generally very good condition to the leather seats and various trim, with only one minor note of wear evident to the driver’s lower seat bolster and armrest area. The dashboard and assorted instrumentation contribute to the high-performance nature of this car with multiple gauges, including a Greddy Turbo boost gauge installed in place of the digital clock. The 6-speed manual gearshift, factory optional premium audio, and comfortable ergonomic layout of all features make for a very refined performance cockpit. The condition of the carpeting, door panels, and other interior surfaces is excellent throughout with no major issues. The rear hatch carpeting is in very good condition with most factory accessories in place under the rear carpet section.

Under the hood, the twin-turbocharged 2JZ-GTE engine is clean and nicely detailed with only minor modifications from stock. Services have been consistent and regular, performed primarily by the owner, an avid car enthusiast and capable mechanic. The underside is clean, very tidy, and reflective of indoor storage and low miles. The Greddy exhaust, shock absorbers, aftermarket sway bars, and braided stainless steel brake lines are minor performance upgrades which can be easily reversed should the next owner decide to do so. There is no evidence of structural damage or compromise to the floor or suspension anchor points. The recently received accident-free Carfax shows no issues, single ownership, and mileage consistent with owner recorded services.

Mechanically the car performs in keeping with the original specs Toyota demanded when new. It’s hard to imagine how impressive these cars were in 1994 when new, but the performance still lives up to the lofty standards set nearly 30 years ago. No wonder collectors and enthusiasts are clamoring for original low mile examples of the fourth generation Supra – with its 6-speed manual gearbox and 320hp engine, performance remains on a par with some of the top sports cars of the era.

Items Included with the Car

About Toyota
Toyota, a name that has become synonymous with reliability and sensibility in the world of automobiles. Let's take a leisurely stroll through the history of this remarkable Japanese marque.

Our story begins in the late 1930s when a modest textile machinery company, Toyota Industries, decided to dip its toes into the world of automobiles. It was a humble beginning, but little did they know that they were about to embark on a journey that would change the automotive landscape forever.

Fast forward to 1957, and we have the introduction of the Toyota Crown, a car that signaled Toyota's ambitions to compete on the global stage. It was sensible, well-built, and it set the tone for what Toyota would become known for - reliability.

But if we're talking about Toyota's foray into the world of high-performance sports cars, we can't ignore the Toyota 2000GT. Introduced in 1967, it was a thing of beauty. Sleek, low-slung, and powered by a silky-smooth inline-six engine. It was Japan's answer to the European sports car establishment, and it put Toyota on the map as a builder of more than just sensible family cars.

Then came the Toyota Celica in the 1970s, a sporty compact coupe that captured the hearts of many. It was affordable, fun to drive, and it helped establish Toyota's reputation for building cars that were both practical and enjoyable.

But if we're talking about Japanese sports cars that made a statement, the Toyota Supra deserves a special mention. First introduced in 1978, it became a legend in its own right. With its powerful inline-six engines and rear-wheel drive, it was a force to be reckoned with on both the street and the track. The Supra is a car that enthusiasts still drool over, even today.

And then, there's the Land Cruiser. It's not just an off-roader; it's an off-roader that can do anything a Land Rover used to do, only better. Introduced in the 1950s, it quickly gained a reputation for being virtually indestructible. Whether it's crossing deserts, jungles, or frozen tundras, the Land Cruiser can handle it with ease.

But perhaps Toyota's most significant achievement is its commitment to reliability and sensibility. They didn't just build cars; they built cars that people could depend on day in and day out. It's no surprise that you see Toyota's on the streets of every corner of the world, from Tokyo to Timbuktu.

So, there you have it, the history of Toyota, a company that started humbly but grew to become a global giant in the automotive industry. They've given us reliable, sensible cars, but they've also shown that they can build high-performance legends and off-roaders that conquer the toughest terrain. Toyota is a brand that proves you can have your sensible cake and eat it with a sprinkle of excitement on top.
