General description :
Een hele stoere Triumph TR4 uit 1963. Aan deze TR 4 is veel aangepast om hem helemaal rally spec /looks te maken. Voorzien van een overdrive versnellingsbak. Als extra is er onder anderen ingebouwd een rolbeugel , tripmaster, kuipstoelen, safety gordels, sleepogen. en voor de motor kap en achter klep zijn extra sluitingen geïnstalleerd. Deze TR 4 is tevens ook uitgerust met de zeldzame Surrey Top, een constructie waarbij het bovenste deel van het dak verwijderd kan worden. Ook een soft top hiervoor is aanwezig. Verder heeft deze Triumph sportieve minilite velgen. Kortom deze stoere TR 4 is helemaal klaar voor de volgende toertocht cq Rally! De TR 4 liet lang op zich wachten. Bij Triumph was men wel overtuigd van de noodzaak om de TR 3a te vervangen maar men schrok terug voor de hoge kosten van ontwikkeling en het op gang brengen van de productie van de nieuwe TR. Uiteindelijk werd men het eens over een ontwerp van Giovanni Michelotti. Het TR3 chassis werd onveranderd overgenomen, maar er waren talrijke verschillen. De motorinhoud was drastisch gestegen. Versnellingsbak was volledig gesynchroniseerd. De carrosserie was totaal nieuw en een paste volledig bij de stijl van dat decennium. De deuren waren voorzien van opdraaibare ramen, het comfort was aanmerkelijk gestegen en ook de bagageruimte was aanmerkelijk groter. De TR4 werd gebouwd tot 1965 in een oplage van 40.253 stuks.
