Volvo PV544 Hot Rod 454 V8 1963

General description : Description
It's time to get your hands on a serious street machine with an awesome attitude. This is the wild side of Volvo with a 1963 P544 specially built hot rod with a dual-quad supercharged big block up front. And oh yes, there's even a nitrous system!
We don't have to tell you that this is not the Volvo to drag the kids around to soccer practice. One look and you know it's the one that only drags American muscle around the strip. This complete custom-built hot rod takes the small and sleek P544 body and turns it into a unique and intimidating machine. It starts with inches chopped out of the body, so that the rounded design looks even sleeker, and then it was channeled over the frame for an extra low stance. So now the big air grabber is as tall as the roof! This is a detail-oriented look with drilled door handles, frenched taillights, fenders expertly deleted, sport mirrors, and the Volvo logo added to the classic Ford-style grille. Even the trim line run the full-length of the car, including across the engine bay. And those salt flat style wheels are done in a big 18/20 inch front/rear size to make this one look even lower to the ground. This is the kind of big money build that could have easily sprayed a candy-coated paint on top...but to make sure it holds the true tradition of its rat/hot rod roots, they gave it a purposely textured matte finish. So this Volvo really has a ton of attitude.
This one tries to hide its thoughtfulness inside, too. The dual bucket seats initially look like they were borrowed from just anywhere, but in reality, they are quite complete and comfy. In-between is an armrest center console that also doubles as a mounting point for the nitrous bottle. There's an AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth and subwoofers custom mounted in the rear. You'll slip behind a wood and chrome steering wheel mounted on a tilt column. The dash has simulated distress, and it houses a full set of upgraded gauges.
We know you've been staring at that motor, and so will everyone else. After all, that checked flag firewall tells signals this powerhouse is a true winner. It's a 454 cubic-inch big block with plenty of machine shop receipts documenting its fortification. You want a strong motor because there's a big blower on top of it! Plus, the double set of Holley four-barrel carbs look terrific on top while letting this mighty motor inhale deeply. And don't forget that the nitrous is there when you really need to leave everyone in your wake. It's an attractive setup that also has the right supporting components, like an MSD ignition an upgraded radiator w/electric fans, and Milodon oil pan. And the header package allows this to exhale with power and thunder from those direct side pipes. Getting all this power to the ground is a three-speed automatic transmission feeding a stout Ford 9-inch rear. And while this sounds like the kind of package for an unruly beast, this big power machine is actually geared to be tame and cruise at 60 mph with ease. There are even nice suspension components for all around driving like the four-link rear with adjustable RideTech coilovers and modern sport tires.
Complete with build receipts and maintenance records, this one has an awesomely wild look. But the level of fit and finish also tells you it can actually be enjoyed on the streets. Who knew you could get all of that in a Volvo? Call today!!!
