WANDERER W50 Gläser Cabriolet - ein Stück automobiles Kulturgut aus Sachsen, aus dem ehemals bedeutenden Chemnitzer Kraftfahrzeug- und Werkzeugmaschinen-Unternehmen WANDERER.
Dieser Wanderer W50 wurde seinerzeit beim ebenso renommierten Karosseriebauer Gläser in Dresden zu einem wunderschönen 4-sitzigen Cabriolet konfektioniert.
Der Wanderer W50 ist mit einem von Ferdinand Porsche entwickelten
kopfgesteuerten Reihenmotor mit 2,3 Litern Hubraum ausgestattet, welcher 55 PS bei 3800 min leistet. Über ein unsynchronisiertes Viergang-Getriebe mit Mittelschalthebel wird die Hinterachse angetrieben. Der U-Profil-Niederrahmen ist mit einer Doppel-Querlenker Vorderachs-konstruktion mit Querblattfeder ausgestattet, die Hinterachse ist als „Schwingachse“ (Pendelachse) mit Querblattfeder ausgebildet. Eine hydraulisch betätigte „Öldruckbremse“ (Lizenz Lockheed) von ATE unterstreicht die Fortschrittlichkeit des Fahrzeugchassis.
Vom Wanderer W50 Cabriolet existieren heute wohl noch ein dutzend Fahrzeuge in unterschiedlichen Erhaltungszuständen. Das hier ange-botene Wanderer W50 Gläser Cabriolet stellt wohl eines der bestrestaurierten seiner Art dar.
