A very well-presented and authentic package makes this 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible an instant crowd pleaser. This restored icon has a beautiful matching color scheme inside and out, and it has the right V8 power under the hood. This is the first year for the iconic Tri-Five Chevys, so it's important to get all the details right. That's why this drop top has its factory-correct Neptune Green and Sea Mist Green two-tone. The level of shine that this Chevy radiates proves there was a nice investment in a professional respray. But it takes more than just nice paint to be a Chevy worthy of everyone's attention. All the bright work looks like it has been expertly maintained to make sure that the jet-inspired hood ornament boldly leads the way. The panels line up so well that the side trim continues uninterrupted through the doors. Even the upgrades are true to the classic form with fenders skirts and California bumper. This is a truly great '55-correct presentation right down to the details, like the two-piece wheels with whitewall tires and Chevy bow ties within the hubcaps.
While the white folding roof looks terrific in place, with just the flip of a switch, it powers down to reveal an even more impressive interior. After all, the two-tone green looks fantastically well-coordinated so that you will really wow people whenever you open up this Bel Air to the world. Plus, you can tell the restoration focused on making sure everything you love about these icons is still in place. This includes the fan-style gauge cluster and dual-cowl style dash that resembles the Corvettes of the era. Even the factory style AM radio is still cranking out tunes! This one is so authentic, you'll even be showing off the original-style spare and mat in the trunk.
Part of what makes these cars a legend is that 1955 was the first production year for the small block V8. The only optional eight-cylinder in this inaugural year was the 265 cubic-inch motor, and so when you open the hood, it's great to see this now-legendary V8 looking so accurate. In fact, this is an authentic 1955 block! While the excellent presentation of the bold orange paint and all the correct components will have people impressed at the shows, this one is built to be enjoyed on the road, too. That's why you have a Powerglide automatic transmission and modern treads surrounding your classic whitewall tires.
