'Uncle Jerry' bought the truck new and had a camper on the back and was used to take the family camping most often. When it wasn't serving duty as a camping rig it was occasionally taken on a 7-mile daily commute. The current owner wanted to buy it from Uncle Jerry for quite some time and were only able to in 2003.
The truck is almost entirely survivor condition. The kinder and drier western climate has been kind to the single stage paint leaving a hazy patina behind which is how a proper truck should look. Standard on the 3/4 ton C20 chassis was a 4-barrel carbureted 350 V8. The odometer reads just over 40,000 miles which is believed to be the actual mileage however the current Illinois title reads (mileage not required) and it was not documented.
Included in the Camper Special package is a camper body wiring harness, heavy-duty front spring, heavy-duty front / rear shocks, heavy dude front stabilizer, quick release tailgate, camper tie-down package, rear stabilizer, and Elimi-Pitch package. The Elimi-Pitch package has two horizontal shock absorber mounted between cab rear panel and pick up box, and two vertical shock absorbers mounted between camper overhand and front fenders.
