Description : Gateway Classic Cars Houston showroom is excited to present one of the coolest 1969 Camaros out there. This Camaro has been through over 5 years of thoughtful and painstaking build-out. Initially a mild restomod process was planned; but, as most car people know, things can go from mild to wild in just a few beats...According to its trim plate, it was originally LeMans Blue, however, it was completely stripped and treated to its nearly completely blacked-out look. With nearly $72K in paint and bodywork receipts documenting the extent of the time-consuming work involved in getting it to this awesome looking result, it's evident that its owner spared little expense in achieving the outcome he was looking for. Starting with a very clean 1969 Camaro, this black beauty was taken down to bare metal before the transformation began. A 6.2L GM LS3 crate engine and a 4L85E 4-speed automatic transmission were selected for the powertrain, making this a "daily-driver-ready" sled. However, in keeping with the desire to have a more unique look (than most LS-based restomod projects do in the engine bay), an Edelbrock 71413 LS3 Cross-Ram intake manifold was chosen for the top end; plus, twin custom-fabbed cold air intakes were built for it. To add some sparkle under the hood, a polished power steering fluid reservoir, Wilwood master cylinder (with adjustable proportioning valve), and brake booster were chosen. A gigantic BeCool aluminum radiator is augmented with two large Spal electric fans, keeping the potent LS3 properly cooled, along with adding some additional shiny color contrast underhood. Exhaust is handled by coated shorty headers and a FlowMaster-equipped dual exhaust setup, while ignition is enhanced by StreetFire coils. Out back, a custom Currie rear end is capable of handling much more power than is currently being sent its way. Detroit Speed components provide most of the suspension and handling improvements, with DSE tubular upper and lower control arms up front, fully adjustable Detroit Speed coilover shocks at each corner, and Detroit Speed adjustable lower control arms and Panhard rod out back keep the tires glued to the ground; plus, they add up to giving it that lean, muscular stance that you just can't miss. Disc brakes at all 4 corners improve stopping, and there's an electric emergency brake to assist in keeping the load off the parking pawl when the car is parked on an incline. Boss Motorsports aluminum wheels are wrapped in low profile performance radials, sized P235/40R18 up front, and P265/35R18 out back, providing for taut handling. Inside, a new interior was installed, with updated "ana-digi" gauges where the old mechanical gauges resided, new carpet, and a gorgeous high grade synthetic leather was installed on the seats (with Alcantara inserts) and door panels. To match the seats' inserts, an Alcantara headliner and A- and C-pillar covering was installed, and billet aluminum door latch handles and window cranks were selected, resulting in a very classy passenger environment. For tunes, and FM-modulated Bluetooth system is powered by a Rockford Fosgate amp, which drives the Alpine speakers and boxed subwoofer; plus, it supports Bluetooth handsfree phone use. This hot, blacked out beast keeps its passengers cool on hot days with a new R134a A/C system, so even if the driver's antics makes them sweat, the A/C will help them chill. Additional features include Power Brakes, Power Steering, and Seat Belts. Check it out in more detail on our website, or give us a ring with any questions - this one is ready to make its statement!
