Chevrolet Camaro 350 cubic inch V8 1967

Allgemeine Beschreibung : Beautiful restoration in great colors. 350/4-speed. Real 3L RS, real 4P SS350. Built 1969 350 with 4-bolt mains and aluminum heads. New interior, new Torque Thrust wheels, upgraded brakes. A well-restored Camaro that drives as great as it looks.

Marina Blue is always a favorite color on the Camaro bodywork, and on this cool RS/SS coupe it looks brilliant. Backed by a pair of white Z/28 stripes, it has a fantastic vintage performance vibe. Paint and bodywork were expertly done and it appears that it’s wearing original sheetmetal, as we can find no signs of cutting or welding on the floors or quarters. It does have a cowl induction hood, which is a traditional performance addition and we can’t object to it being here. A quick check of the cowl tag reveals that this car is both a code 3L Rally Sport and a code 4P Super Sport, so it includes all the right goodies: ducktail spoiler, hidden headlights, a chin spoiler, and appropriate badging. 1967 is also the only year that includes the side vent windows and does without side marker lights, so the net effect is a very sleek, clean F-body. The stripes are buried under the clear, so it has a seamless look and feel, and the bright wheel arch moldings add a little contrast. You’ll also find excellent panel gaps and doors that close remarkably well for an early Camaro—the sound is solid, not a loose rattle. Beautiful chrome and stainless finishes off a fantastic look and you can tell good money was spent here.

The black vinyl deluxe interior sticks to the factory formula with silver inserts and a center console for a sporty look. There’s a tilt steering column with a custom steering wheel that feels a little more beefy in your hands and works well with the car’s personality. Factory gauges cover only the basics, so they’ve added a set of auxiliary Stewart-Warner dials down on the console, which look like they were born there. There’s no radio, but I’d argue that if you need a radio in a car like this, you’re doing it wrong, and if you do ultimately need one it will be easy enough to install. A Hurst shifter with cue ball knob manages the Muncie 4-speed underneath and snaps through the gears with precision. Virtually everything is new and shows extremely well, including the carpets, seat covers, and door panels, but it appears that the headliner is original and in very good condition. The trunk is very clean and finished with correct gray spatter paint and it’s just a reproduction mat away from being ready to show.

As a real SS, it would have come standard with a 350 cubic inch V8 making 300 horsepower. The 350 under the hood today has numerous upgrades to help it do a little better than stock. The block itself is a 1969 3932386 casting, which means 4-bolt mains on the bottom end. There’s also a slightly more aggressive camshaft that gives it a cool idle and a fantastic mid-range surge, as well as a set of aluminum heads that not only save weight but add horsepower. On top there’s an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, but factory manifolds handle the exhaust—great for preventing leaks and controlling heat. Note that the firewall has been smoothed and finished to match the bodywork and there are a few chrome pieces to brighten things up. Underneath you get an ultra-clean chassis with no nasty surprises, just clean black floors and factory finishes. The Muncie 4-speed doesn’t mind the 350’s torque churning through it and our backsides suggest that there are punchy 3.55 gears out back. Both power steering and power disc brakes are part of the package, and the brakes are upgraded units from SSBC that are a nice upgrade over the stockers. All the lines and hoses are new, the shocks are fresh, the gas tank is new, and the dual exhaust uses Flowmaster mufflers for that traditional V8 performance sound. 16-inch Torque Thrust wheels are the right period performance touch, and they carry staggered 205/55/16 front and 255/50/16 rear BFGoodrich radials.

Built to be a forever car, this is the kind of Camaro you want to own. Cost was clearly not an issue with the build, and starting with a real RS/SS is a nice part of the pedigree. It runs and drives superbly, with performance that backs up the aggressive look. A fast, fun Camaro that’s still cheaper than building your own. Call today!
