Ford 5-Window Coupe 350 cubic inch "Ram Jet" V8 1932

Allgemeine Beschreibung : 100% steel car. Cost-no-object professional build by Heinzman Street Rods with extensive recent work by Precision Hot Rods. 350 Ram Jet V8 with fuel injection, 700R4 automatic, A/C, leather, and a great entertainment system. Exceptional rod for less than the cost of duplication!

We don’t have to tell you that the ’32 Fords are icons, but some are more iconic than others. This stunning coupe, for instance, nails the traditional look without any tricks—no graphics, no wild body modifications, and a color combination that will never go out of style. Instead of spending time and money on fashion, this rod was built with quality as its guiding principle, and the results speak for themselves, because it’s absolutely spectacular in person. Starting with a clean Henry Ford 5-window body, the experts at Heinzman Street Rods built an ultra-straight black high-boy coupe that incorporated all the upgrades people want today. The build was finished in 2012 at a cost of more than $130,000, and was driven a bit and used for shows where it was a consistent trophy winner. In 2018, the car was delivered to Precision Hot Rods in Ohio to have full fenders installed (steel, of course), along with running boards, a proper headlight bar, taillights, and to freshen the paint. The result is a stunning full-fendered coupe that makes a statement with its attention to detail and no-nonsense stance. We have detailed receipts and photos of the entire build and it is undoubtedly 100% steel, including new fabricated floors and firewall. With just over 9000 miles on the build, it remains in excellent condition throughout and is completely sorted and ready to enjoy.

The spectacular red leather interior was created by noted expert Doug Winters of Doug’s Auto Trim in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. It incorporates a custom front bench seat by Glide Engineering that allows for plenty of leg and head room, as well as matching side panels and beautifully finished floors wearing Mercedes-Benz square-loop carpet. A polished tilt steering column has a color-matched banjo-style wheel and the original dash was subtly modified for both the A/C ducts and a full set of white-faced Auto Meter gauges. Functionality was the key, so switches and knobs are all neatly placed and easy to find and the car feels remarkably contemporary from behind the wheel. And if you’re into details, just check out the beautifully finished parking brake handle, the custom-made floor mats, and the overhead console for the AM/FM/CD/USB stereo system. The trunk is finished using the same high-quality materials and includes a false bulkhead to hide the battery and wiring harness, with a cut-off switch neatly installed at its base.

Power comes from a fresh GM 350 cubic inch “Ram Jet” V8, which features electronic fuel injection in a vintage-looking box intake. It’s rated at 350 horsepower and 400 lb-ft. of torque, and it’s plenty punchy in the lightweight coupe. It also has exemplary street manners, firing quickly, idling easily, and pulling at any speed without any carburetor hiccups. There’s also an electronic ignition system, beautiful block-hugging polished headers, and lots of chrome to make the engine bay worth displaying at shows. Up front there’s a massive radiator with electric fan and shroud so it stays cool in traffic. It’s backed by a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, so highway cruising is effortless at any speed that won’t put you in jail, and with 3.55 gears in the 9-inch Ford rear end, it’s still got a lot of grunt off the line. It uses fully boxed ’32 frame rails as its foundation with custom tubular X-brace and cross-members, plus an A-arm front suspension with coil-overs and rack-and-pinion steering for light effort. A custom stainless exhaust system has a mellow hot rod sound that never gets annoying and front disc brakes give it plenty of stopping power. There are a few very minor signs of use but the professional workmanship throughout really shines through in how well this rod goes down the road. The stance is exactly right thanks to coil-overs at all four corners and it sits on 15-inch steelies with hubcaps and trim rings and staggered 195/65/15 front and 235/70/15 rear blackwall radials.

Documentation is extensive, with build receipts, invoices, service manuals, photos, and parts lists to make this a no-questions build that will be easy to maintain in the future.

For us, this hot rod checks all the important boxes. It’s steel, it’s beautifully finished, it’s bulletproof reliable, it’s comfortable, and it looks like a million bucks. No expense was spared in the build and we have the receipts to prove it—this car would be very expensive to duplicate. And with the traditional look and color combination, it’ll never go out of fashion like so many other rods. If you’re a traditionalist looking for an exceptional rod with no disappointments, this is your car. Call today!
