Brooklands Green Pearl with Black Leather

When Acura first launched, their tour de force of technical sophistication and manufacturing, the NSX instantly established Acura as a premier brand. Only four years had lapsed since the Acura name emerged from the confines of Honda as a premier division, but sports car perceptions were about to be changed forever.

In 1984, Honda began their quest to produce a key competitor to Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche by targeting the Ferrari 328 as the car to beat. Honda wanted to meet or exceed the performance of the Ferrari, while maintaining Honda reliability, at a reasonable price. The team developed the commanding naturally aspirated V6 VTEC engine - the world's first production car engine with titanium connecting rods, forged pistons and ultra high-revving capabilities. With redline at a superior 8,000 rpm, the NSX represented all of the best traits associated with the most prolific track and race engineered motor cars. Honda called upon Formula One winner Ayrton Senna, who would become a primary performance consultant, convincing the company to stiffen the NSX chassis further after testing the car at Honda's Suzuka GP circuit. In addition to Senna’s extensive contributions, legendary Japanese Formula One driver Satoru Nakajima and prominent American driver Bobby Rahal were both active participants in the car's unprecedented development as the world’s first all-aluminum production car.

When the NS-X (short for "new sports experimental") debuted at the Chicago Auto Show in February 1989, sports car enthusiasts were astounded by it’s stance, striking lines, and distinct cab-forward design. Sporting a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout and lightweight aluminum construction, the NSX was hailed by many as the "Everyday Supercar" capable of competing against Ferrari and Porsche, offering incredible balance, sophistication, and reliability, while exceeding everyone’s expectations. An impressive round of innovation and design evolved these amazing cars over fifteen years of production, making each of the annual refinements unique and desirable for enthusiasts and now collectors.

This particular car is the rare and desirable NSX-T model, which has a removable roof panel, allowing for open driving. Currently showing 57,371 miles, this beautiful car has been cared for and used sparingly by one singular owner/enthusiast since purchased new from Hopkins Acura in Redwood City, CA where it has been serviced regularly including the timing belt replacement at 50,000 miles. The car was delivered with a hard-wired cell phone in the console stowage box, Bose audio system with 5 disc CD changer mounted in the trunk, TCS (Traction Control System), and ABS. The original owner has maintained this NSX with great care, evident in every respect, adding two important items for improved performance – a transverse anti-roll bar (important particularly for Targa cars) and a high flow air intake box.

The visual presentation is quite nice beginning with the rare and beautiful Pearl Green Metallic paint. Acura offered this color for three years only (1994, 1995, and 1996). A mere 264 were painted this color, with only 10 NSX-T models made optioned with black leather and manual transmission. The paint is very nice throughout showing high gloss and excellent finish in all areas. A surprisingly minimal amount of minor chips can be seen in the lower front air dam, visible only upon close examination. The glass, trim, emblems, and various lenses throughout the car are all in very nice excellent condition showing no major flaws of note. The outside rearview mirrors show minimal marks from road use. The car is currently mounted on Racinghart High Performance Wheels wearing Bridgestone Potenza 215/40 ZR17 front and 255/35 R18 rear. While this wheel and tire combination add to the look and stance of the car and are in excellent visual condition, the original rims are also included, should the new owner wish to change back to the original wheel and tire combination. The original rims are mounted with a set of Pirelli P7000 series tires, which have excellent tread remaining.

The black leather interior is very nicely maintained, showing no significant wear or fading on the carpets, seats, or door panels. The driver’s seat shows minor wear along the left side upper bolster. The dash is free from significant marks or shrinkage with no cracks or fading. The carpet under both of the floor mats appears essentially new, and the mats themselves show minimal wear. Overall, the interior shows very well, including the headliner, which appears nearly new. The inside doorsills are in excellent condition with no significant marks or scratches along the brightwork. The trunk compartment is also in excellent condition as is the front compartment and spare tire. Under the hood the engine and engine compartment support the reported miles with very nice finishes and correct factory details. The car starts easily and runs very nicely with smooth shifting, excellent acceleration, and fantastic handling.

This amazing car comes with the original owners manual, leather pouch, paperwork from the original owner, and various service stickers indicating mileage for oil changes and general maintenance. A new owners box is also included with the owner’s manual, warranty book, tire brochure, video tape, audio tape, and other items. Also included with the car is a color-matched set of hard sided fitted luggage (purchased in Italy), a 12” x 12” original 1995 NSX showroom brochure, a full set of factory service manuals (in mint condition) for service, electrical, and body, as well as service bulletins. Truly a contemporary sports car of tremendous distinction, the NSX was advanced far beyond cars of the period, with a design that still remains fresh and compelling today.

With capabilities virtually unheard of in supercars at the time, the NSX continues to be known for build quality, solid reliability, and legendary performance. Today these cars are continuing the tradition of excellence as they advance into the 25 year-old collectible category, making them not only desirable objects of art, but enduring and drivable statements of motorsports excellence.
