Land Rover Defender 90 Custom Restomod 1984

Allgemeine Beschreibung : 1984 Land Rover Defender 90Hardtop Utility Van LHD Inaugural year for Defender 90 European model built at the Solihull factory in the United Kingdom Gray, black and electric green exterior with a custom black and electric green interior UPGRADED 20032.4L inline four-cylinder turbo dieselengine Five-speed manual transmission Galvanized Rovers North frame Front winch, power steering and power four-wheel disc brakes Among 4x4 collectors, there are rare finds then are seldom seen finds. Mot Xotica Classic Cars is proud to present one of the latter in this left hand drive 1984 Land Rover Defender 90 Hardtop Van. This example was made in Land Rovers Solihull factory in the United Kingdom. This example was recently serviced and has had a lot of custom work performed.Dressed in a handsome gray and black with electric green trim, the SUVs exterior is in overall great shape. The paint and trim appear new. The trucks glass panels are clear and crack-free while the lights are haze-free and intact. The bodywork is straight and solid; it has a stout galvanized Rovers North frame ($3,800 option). The trucks bumpers fit well to the body; the winch in front works and uses synthetic rope. The trucks engine bay is tidy, its cargo area looks fantastic and this truck rolls on like new Cooper Discoverer STT tires, size 33X12.50R15LT. Each one is wrapped around a steel wheel painted electric green. Theres a full-size matching spare tire mounted to the rear cargo door. The tires and wheels are all in good order.Under the hood is a 2.4L inline four-cylinder turbo diesel engine from a 2003 TDI Land Rover. Mated to it is a five-speed manual gearbox. Driver convenience features include power steering and power four-wheel disc brakes.Inside, the customization continues with a black and green interior. The bucket seats are in excellent condition and the floormats under the drivers and front passengers feet are in good order. The three-spoke aftermarket steering wheel looks great as it faces the driver while the inner door panel and dashboard are in better-than-average condition. The center console looks as fine as the seats and the silver, electric green and black shifter is eye-catching. Rounding out the interior is a JVC AM/FM stereo with CD player and speakers.Superficially there is little to distinguish the post-1983 vehicles from the Series III Land Rover. A full-length bonnet, revised grille, plus the fitting of wheel arch extensions to cover wider-track axles are the most noticeable changes. While the engine and other body panels carried over from theSeries III, mechanically the 90 and 110 were modernized, including: Coil springs, offering a more comfortable ride and improved axle articulation A permanent four-wheel-drive system derived from theRange Rover, featuring a two-speed transfer gearbox with a lockable center differential A modernized interior A taller one-piece windshield A new series of progressively more powerful and modern enginesFrom 1984, wind-up windows were fitted and a 2.5-liter diesel engine was introduced. This was based on the earlier 2.3-liter engine but had a more modern fuel-injection system as well as increased capacity. This period saw Land Rover market the utility Land Rover as a private recreational vehicle. While the basic pick-up,4x4 and van versions were still working vehicles, the County 4x4s were sold as multi-purpose family vehicles, featuring improved interior trim and more comfortable seats. This change was reflected in Land Rover starting what had long been common practice in the car industry detail changes and improvements to the County model from year-to-year in order to attract new buyers and to encourage existing owners to trade in for a new vehicle. These changes included different exterior styling graphics and color options and the introduction of new options, such as radio-cassette players, Rostyle wheels, headlamp wash and wipe systems, as well as accessories such assurfboard carriers andbikeracks. The switch fromleaf spring tocoil springsuspension was a key part of the new model's success. It offered improved off-road ability, load capacity, handling and ride comfort. If youre a Land Rover fan or a 4x4 collector in general, you should stop by Mot Xotica Classic Cars and check out this Defender 90 .This SUV is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri.

Akt 2: Series Land Rover (1950er-1970er)
