Maserati Ghibli Spyder Matching numbers and colours, only 125 made 1970

Allgemeine Beschreibung : La Dolce Vita, it doesn’t get any better than “La Dolce Vita”. We have a 1970 Maserati Ghibli Spyder 4.7 with only 31,049 miles on the clock. This particular Maserati Ghibli Spyder is one of only 125 Spyders built by Maserati themselves. Giorgetto Giugiaro designed the Maserati Ghibli and Ghibli Spyder whilst still working for Ghia. It was also one of his last designs before starting up his own Italdesign company. The Ghibli is still considered to be a brilliant piece of design, still attracting many an admiring glance. This Ghibli Spyder has matching numbers and colours, which is just as good as the person who originally ordered the car managed to put a timeless vehicle together. Magnificent! Since it was first supplied in 1970 this Maserati Ghibli Spyder has only had 5 owners in total, as evidenced by the presence of the very extensive amount of documentation. The complete history of this Ghibli Spyder is known. The car comes with two fat files of paperwork with for instance copies of ownership papers, a Maserati certificate, various technical documents, correspondence and invoices. In the past this Ghibli was subjected to a top-class restoration and has remained in brilliant condition ever since. The Maserati Ghibli Spyder’s lovely original bodywork has nice and thin, correctly aligned panelwork. The"Argento Metalizzato" paintwork is similarly in great condition. The application of the re-spray was perfect and shows no signs of blemish what so ever. The car stands proudly on its lovely Borrani wire wheels. A new hood has recently been fitted and naturally is in excellent shape with a snug fit. Inside the car has lovely black carpets and black leather upholstery. The inside trim was also completely. refitted during the restoration and remains in splendid condition. The top of the dashboard is smooth, the fine looking instruments and controls are all in perfect working order. Your sojourn in the car is further enhanced by the presence of air-conditioning, power steering and headrests. Mechanically this Maserati also borders on perfection. This Maserati Ghibli Spyder has a 4.7 90 degree V8 engine developing 330 Ps at 6,600 revs, coupled to a manual ZF 5-speed gearbox. The V8 drives this Ghibli to a top speed of no less than 265 km/hr and all that in a 1970’s car! The perfectly smooth running engine is more than capable of giving this Ghibli Spyder all the necessary oomph. The precise action on the gearbox adds in no small measure to this Maserati’s driving pleasure. The suspension and brakes all have been perfectly maintained. This Maserati Ghibli Spyder is more than ready to be enjoyed in the coming summer months and for many summers to come. We highly recommend this brilliant piece of design from long ago. A very rare, well documented, Maserati Ghibli Spyder, aesthetically as well as mechanically in top-class condition! Gallery Aaldering is Europe’s leading Classic Cars specialist since 1975!

Akt 1: Die Roaring Twenties
