Pontiac GTO 1970

Allgemeine Beschreibung : Pontiac's storied GTO is an international legend. So, how do you make a classic that's already as cool as this 1970 drop-top even more desirable? You start with a roster of reliable hardware that's wrapped in a crisp body, throw in some modern comfort, and layer it all in timeless hot rod swagger. Like your muscle cars both head-turning AND fun to drive? This picturesque Poncho is just what you've been looking for!
LAUNCH YOUR WEEKEND
Fully sorted and ready to roll, this clean cruiser is the beneficiary of detailed restoration that mixes polished poise with proven athleticism. All that lovable charm was carefully sealed in energetic Orbit Orange two-stage. And today, the car rolls as uniquely familiar Americana that's easy to live with and even easier to look at! The exhibit kicks off with a prominent Pontiac grille that hangs bold 'G T O' lettering between stainless-trimmed headlights, a stainless-trimmed valance and ornate 'gunsight' parking lamps. An appropriately black-trimmed hood founds a factory tachometer in front of stainless-trimmed glass and crisp Black canvas. A sculpted profile floats delightfully '70s Judge decals amid painted mirrors, factory door handles and tight rocker armor. And at the back of the car, an imposing wing shades polished exhaust tips and a polished bumper that's finished with black guards and factory taillights.
PONTIAC 400
Hoist the hood and you'll find 400 cubic inches of dressed Pontiac go! At the top of that tough Turquoise terror, a polished Holley Twin Sidedraft Air Cleaner funnels wind through a coated Holley 4-barrel that's wired with stainless lines and a small Mr. Gasket pressure gauge. That carb rides a coated Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, which feeds cast iron heads that tilt polished valve covers under a polished breather. Those heads are framed by aftermarket long-tubes and loomed Pertronix Flame-Thrower plug wires, which are sequenced to a hot HEI distributor. Opposite that distributor, billet pulleys spin polished power steering under a polished alternator and a polished AC compressor. In front of those grooves, a corrugated tube joins a polished cap to garnish a factory radiator. And details like a polished brake booster and a polished firewall trim out flashy aesthetics.
FOR THE DRIVE
Bottom-side, that stout mill commands a tough Legend Gear & Transmission 5-speed. That gearbox twists a tough Keisler driveshaft, which twists a tough 12-bolt axle. That drivetrain rides a familiar F41 Special Performance Suspension, which is led by fluid power steering. Stops are provided by power front disc and rear drum brakes. At the center of the floors, a throaty exhaust system hangs an X-shaped crossover in front of manual cutouts and aggressive dual-chamber mufflers. And everything rolls on Polished Billet Specialties Vintecs, which spin 225/45ZR18 Pantera Sport A/S in front of 275/40R20 Achilles Desert Hawk UHPs.
JUST RIGHT CUSTOM
Swing the doors and you'll find a clean leather interior that feels like the perfect place to spend a warm summer evening. Front and center, retrofitted hi-back buckets join a leather-stitched bench to display warm Judge embroidery. The 400's vitals are registered by crisp AutoMeter Phantom telemetry, which rides next to controls for modern air conditioning and Dual touchscreen audio. Quality carpet anchors a full-length console around a polished Keisler shifter. At the sides of the car, pliable door panels back billet handles. The driver spins a stylish Billet Specialties steering wheel around a tilting column. And the passengers store essentials in a fully carpeted trunk.
It's no wonder GM's excitement division enjoys such huge popularity despite being over a decade removed from the new car market. With storied power, unmatched swagger and enough curb appeal to make every day picturesque, Pontiac muscle cars feature a perfect combination of form and functionality.
