Under the current ownership for over 2 decades. This Bentley R Type is in very fine order finished in traditional colours of Tudor over Shell Grey. Forming part of a small collection it has in recent years seen only small incremental mileages added to its odometer bringing it up to the now indicated 101,556 miles from new.

The grey leather seating & carpets have been redone making for a very smart interior. The woodwork in highly figured burr walnut is original as it left the factory. The car overall presents beautifully with a light patination of use rather then concours show exhibit.

An assortment of bills & correspondence comes witht he car attesting to an engine rebuild in the 1980's including new pistons & connecting rods etc after which the car has not covered many miles. Indeed the 1990 Ministry of Transport certificate recorded a mileage of 89,475 with only 11,000 or so covered since.

1931 Bentley togs över British Central Equitable Förtroende som senare visade sig vara en front för Rolls-Royce Limited. Missnöjd med sin roll på Rolls-Royce, W.O. Bentley lämnade bolaget när hans kontrakt löpte ut 1935 vederbörligen gå Lagonda. Detta var i början av som i slutändan låta Bentley bilar blir bara badge-engineered Rolls-Royce.
