Chrysler Windsor NEWPORT Coupe Fully restored and revised example! 1950

Allmän beskrivning : The Chrysler Windsor Newport is top class American coupé. Whilst you are always aware that getting into to back of a European coupé may be a bit of a tight squeeze and egroom may be at a premium, there are no such qualms with an American coupé. With its 5.29 metres in length the Windsor Newport has space for six passengers. When our Chrysler Windsor Newport arrived in Holland in 2006 it had lost a fair bit of its glamour. Basically it was a solid car and exactly the sort the previous owner was after. He had been on the lookout for a car from which to create his ultimate Chrysler Windsor Newport. It is now easy to admire the fantastic job he made of it. The car underwent a full overhaul and restoration. Ever since the restoration it has been very well cared for. This Chrysler is therefore still in excellent condition. The fine bodywork has nice and thin, perfectly aligned panelwork. The two-tone paint job has has been carried out professionally and is near pristine. The colour codes used are included in the car’s documentation file. As is befitting of a 50’s American car, there is an abundance of exterior brightwork. All the brightwork has been re-chromed and is in brilliant condition. When you stick your head through the door opening you will appreciate that as much effort has gone into producing a high quality finish on the inside as on the outside. A high-end full re-upholstery was done. The bench-seats restoration kept that original feeling to a high. degree and are pristine. All the fine light-brown carpets are new. The car received the necessary mechanical attention during the restoration. Both engine and gearbox were overhauled and now work perfectly. Thanks to a full overhaul of the suspension the car now also drives and handles in an exemplary fashion. All engine hoses were replaced, all add-ons overhauled or replaced as well as attending to the front and rear axles and steering. To ensure a harmonious operation, a completely new cable loom was fitted. We rarely see such attention to detail in restoring cars like this one. We have a full record of all the work carried out with extensive man-hour lists, a restoration rapport, photos and parts list. A nice touch are the copies of old brochures that bring the 50’s back to life. Just for one single moment you could believe that you have just ordered your new Chrysler Windsor Newport.
