Citroen DS 21 Pallas Injection Electronique 1970

Allmän beskrivning : The Citroën DS, nicknamed “the pike” by the Dutch for its frontend resemblance, was straight from the off a total game-changer. So much use of special technology, like the hydrolytic suspension and directional headlights, something previously only seen in top marques such as Rolls-Royce and Bentley and all that in a car for the ‘normal’ family. Our car was supplied from new in France and got its first registration in 1970. The car remained in France until 1999 when its was imported and registered in the Netherlands. For 20 years this car was cared for but never driven, which resulted in a ‘sleeping’ number plate registration, only to be re-activated earlier last year. The result is a beautifully preserved car that has never needed any restorative work other than a cosmetic re-spray in AC 318 Sable Métallisé. The 50 year old interior has developed the right amount of patina. This interior looks fantastic and appears to be totally authentic. The paintwork is lovely and underneath the car is very solid without any signs of rust. Before the car was MOT’d it was mechanically fully checked and brought up to good working oder, resulting in a ‘ready to go’ vehicle. The 2.1 injection engine runs very smoothly and the manual 5-speed gearbox works a treat. The car we have here is quite rightly an iconic family car in very good shape!
